This is not true. I don't know if the codified rule originated with shotty (I doubt it) but I can tell you that even when I was first on the site in 2006 there was a strong culture of "if you ask for a title or try to convince people to give you a title you will not get a/that title."

I compared the title to shotty's, not you to shotty.

I'd consider repeatedly bringing it up and arguing that it is better than other (equally shitty) titles to be basically exactly what shotty did. You as a person aren't like Shotty though, much to everyone's benefit.

Can we please kill doot? The title is flat trash and was a joke that got old by a couple of days. Now people are beating a dead horse with it, forcing two users on the title. Yes, I know the title has been stopped but WE'RE STILL TALKING ABOUT IT.

Also Firebringer, shea's right. Active involvement in your own title (aside from "yes I like it" or "no I don't like it and here's why") has always been frowned on by the title fairies and it's always been a negative to actively discuss your own title because it's a gift to you from the community. You don't go out with your friends when they pick up gifts for you unless you're really picky.
