I am very in favor of posts at the end of games reminding players about the title fairy thread. I honestly don't understand how anyone can be against a single short informative post like this???

How many single-game related titles do we have rn
because that's my main concern, I'm not sure if it's a bad thing, but it worries me

they kind of all make sense.
Watcher is someone who doesn't get involved but watches the action to see if they get involved.
Ninja is reference to being quick on things like when someone posts when ur just about to posts.
Mafia Scum is just iconic, and the build up is to mafia scum. Someone can explain the townie, goon build-up better then I could, but it definitely makes sense in my eyes.
Jack of All Trades is a weird one to me but I'll figure out eventually.
Survivor is the end goal.

Now, I would like to see a 20,000 post title, or survivor moved to that and something to mark 10,000 due to the fact that 23 individuals made it past the 20k mark, and the whole first page of the members list if you sort by post is people who reached 10k
And its only growing.

actually figuring out what JOAT is, I guess you could say there's a new way to see them

going from townie to the very beginning, to survior being the very end

JOAT is the peak, as if they're a celebrity, known for a variety of tricks.

However the only thing the roles are missing is the fall
10k should suit that perfectly
then 20k and above should be survivor, the title about the legacy that individual leaves, because quite frankly, they've seen it all.

Survivor as you say makes sense as the ultimate end goal. It also symbolizes how long the person has undoubtedly stayed on the site.

Jack of All Trades I understand also because it's a person of many talents, which is usually what people become as they gain more experience playing.

Watcher is probably the best one, it's spot on. Ninja is cool also.

But the 3 in the middle... Townie .. okay that's an alignment not a role first of all, then it goes to goon, so I guess we're going for less scummy to more scummy? Mafia scum .. I kinda see what the intention is but scum and mafia are typically used interchangeably so it's a little redundant and again it's not a role where all the others where.

If we are to keep the other 4 and want something more inline with them then it has to go from least complex to more complex. Say vanilla townie -> goon -> godfather, or goon -> traitor -> godfather. If adding a new 5k title (and bumbling up JoaT and Survivor), maybe goon -> traitor -> serial killer -> godfather.

I dunno just rambling at this point. I just feel those middle 3 don't really sit right with the rest the way they are right now.

So as a bit of a tangental idea related to this, on my mothersite (RIP ScrewAttack) there were fun nerdy titles that would come up at different post numbers. For instance, at 151 you were Mew or 1st Genner or something like that. And there could be so many more key numbers, even one at 100 that says Speakeasy Eligible or something!

Not the drawbacks are that it would take a little work (though over time they can be added so nbd right), amd that the other site doid it with pictures so it was a lot more visible rather than only words as we have here.

But yeah, thought you might like to throw that in since you're toying with this

you aren't suddenly a star, it takes work and effort to get there

You're newer to the site so you probably don't know that originally, there were only three titles. People think of Mafia Scum as having staying power from being the traditional title, but they don't realize that Townie and Goon have been around for just as long. Townie was, if I recall correctly, 0-50 posts; Goon was 51-100 posts, and Mafia Scum was 100+ posts originally. I could be misremembering the post numbers, but they have that history and culture behind them.

This is what I favor if we're going to make changes.

Open to suggestions on the name for the 10k position, or if an existing name is put there, for what name would fill that vacancy.

I really like Jester, as you have to be a fool to stick around long enough to earn it.

There's a certain degree of masochism involved in having stuck through long enough to earn that rank, so the parallels are striking.
