there is a very good chance that 7 is more balanced than 6. There is even a chance that 8 is more balanced than 6 or 7. Those two nks could really chew though the townies quickly.

2 Mafia Goons
1 Addictive Cop
1 Doctor
3 Townies

Addictive Cop
- You may investigate any player at night in order to learn if they are scum via an inocent or guilty read. You know that you are sane but if you are targeted by a doc your results for that night could be wrongly influenced. You win with the town when all scum are elimnated. Good luck.

Mod Notes -
if Cop is protected from a kill, his result will be paranoia
if Cop is protected and not targeted for a kill, his result will be naive

I don't think Cop Sanity Issues belong in a Newbie Game.

i think it is meant to be played as an open by experienced players, the title just identifies the origin.

Although i happen to believe sanity issues don't belong in any game

Mr. and Mrs. Smith has lots of interesting quirks to it. If Mr. Smith claims Watcher before he meets Mrs. Smith, he instantly loses unless he does it in LyLo. If Mr. Smith claims watcher after he's met her, or gambles on meeting her the night after claiming watcher, he can still win, and can get the watcher killed by his partner. So belating the meeting, even if it's not totally prevented, could be significant.

"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"

expected final, always.
We had a long discussion on this earlier. Some people thought "expected final" was obvious, others thought "current" was obvious. I don't think either is obvious.

I think people should play towards whichever faction they think is going to win the game. So pre-game everyone sends the mod a prediction of who's going to win. Players actually win the game if they predicted correctly, not if their faction triumphed.

Town: Uh, we all predicted that the scum would win.

QFT

When a player replaces back into a game or there alignment is otherwise changed, they should play to their current win condition; that is, if they were Town, but are now Scum, they should play as scum. There's no gray area.

That's not the point of disagreement. The point of disagreement is what they should do if they're town and they expect to be turned into scum.

You should play to win the game. If you expect that getting recruited as cult will win you the game, it's perfectly fine to play for that.

Variation on something I thought up earlier.

Wishing Well Mafia

(3) Mafia Goons

(1) Poisonous Water Carrier (SK)

(1) Healing Water Carrier
(1) Cop
(6) Vanilla Townies

The Mafia have one NK between them. The Cop has one investigation per night. The Townies each have one night-target per night. All Night Actions are compulsive.

The Healing Water Carrier acts as a Doctor protection to anyone who targets him/her for any reason, has no active Night Action, and is vulnerable to NKs.

The Poisonous Water Carrier can choose whether or not to activate each Night. If he/she decides to activate, anyone who targets him/her will die. This death preempts other Night Actions against him/her - so he/she is
not
vulnerable to NKs.

Day Start, I think.
