exactly. I probably should've organized it more like:

Big Small Town

2 East Side Mafia Goons (know each other, share 1 kill)
1 East Side Cop
1 East Side Doctor (protects against 1 kill)
3 East Side Townies

2 West Side Mafia Goons (know each other, share 1 kill)
1 West Side Tracker
1 West Side Cop
3 West Side Townies

2 Downtown Mafia Goons (know each other and Godfather, share 1 kill with each other and Godfather)

Day Start

Each player knows what part of town each other player lives on. When the mafia controls 2 out of the three areas, the mafia wins. If the mafia is eliminated from 2 out of the three areas, the town wins. Any player with a role can target any other player from any area. Players can only vote for another player who lives on their side of town. Each Day phase ends when two out of the three areas have reached a lynch (with the third area being treated as a deadline lynch) or when the deadline is reached.

If a scum player is blocked by more than one roleblocker a night and was killing someone, the scum player instantly dies. All roleblocks on other roleblockers will fail.

I like big small town. I have no clue about balance, but i like it.

There's definitely special cases to consider. I'd actually rather enjoy seeing who could break the game best though.

Like, if one part of town breaks down to one townie one scum, the jailkeeper of one town can target that scum to keep that section of town in perpetual tie. (a cross town shooting risks doc protection if that remaining townie is known)

town has a 50% chance of winning from the get-go
and then even if they blow up wrong then they still have a chance at winning again

dahill1, I presumed that blowing up the other boat immediately would end the game.

As the engines would restart and the boats would arrive and everyone would run for their lives.

Adel, while that game looks fun, I think it'd be too much for a newbie mod to handle, which is a side purpose of the Open Queue. Don't think running it here is a great idea.

i'd still just take the chance of blowing up the other boat because it's pretty damn hard to win a 3:5 nightless no reveal

I think the wisest think to do Caboose is to make it that there is a gf (who reveals the identity of his goon if lynched) and a goon.

So then it becomes more like Crush, and therefore more balanced

When a power role in the Town or Mafia dies, the corresponding role in the opposite faction loses its ability. In other words, if the Doctor dies the Mafia Doctor becomes a regular Mafioso. If the Mafia Roleblocker dies the Roleblocker becomes a Townie.

it all depends on who the GF is and the skill level of the town if they choose to lynch

There's actually a 40% you hit scum D1. Not that much lower than blowing up the other boat.

What about two boats of five with 1 scum each? If mafia blow up a boat with all townies on it they win. No time to work out the percentages ATM.

10% is still significant and if it's still noreveal then lynching the goon doesn't help much
anyways, separate threads that are invisible to each other is hardly OG material.

Nightless Game (Trigger is on side of town), No Reveal

The trigger is entirely in control of blowing up the other thread
If the trigger on the town only boat pulls the trigger the town wins. Otherwise the mafia wins
If at any point either trigger dies the mafia wins.
If one mafia member is lynched they have a vengeful kill they can use against a player (on either boat), they can use this at any time
If the mafia controls 50% of Boat B they win
If the game is not over in two weeks both boats are destroyed and the Mod Wins

Alright, let me give it a try.

Boat A:
2 Mafia
3 Townies

Boat B:
1 Mafia
4 Townies

Nightless game. One thread, and both boats can lynch at their own separate pace. (That is, one boat can lynch one or more players while the other boat waits.) Boat A and Boat B both have the option to blow up the other boat instead of a lynch, which will take a majority to reach.

Town wins if all mafia are dead. Mafia win if they comprise at least 50% of the people on each boat still afloat. (If Boat A gets to 2 Mafia and 1 Townie, the mafia automatically blow up Boat B and win.)

How's that?

The two boats are indistinguishable. (I assume that was the case for the other proposed setups, too.)

I had an entirely different but also boat-related idea.
Boat A (First thread)
3 Mafia
7 Town
Boat B (Second thread)
4 Mafia
6 1-shot vigs
Boat C (Third thread)
4 Mafia
5 Town members
1 1-shot vig
Any player may at night choose to swim to another boat. People may still kill him that night.
In the morning, a swimming player will be announced as leaving the thread and will for all intents be dead in that thread. The next time the thread he swum to turns to day, he will be in that game with the role he chose.
