I'm thinking of trying to make a micro setup where there is a jester in play. The jester wins if he is lynched and all other factions lose.

I'm assuming that 1 Town : 1 Jester is a win for town and nobody else (despite the fact that it's still technically possible to lynch the Jester)? If so, this seems highly likely to lead to a kingmaker ending (in 1:1:1, any player can give the win to any other player, but no player can force a win).

This is particularly bad because the "time out" ending in 1:1:1, where nobody's willing to give away the win (and doing so might even be illegal, based on how "play to win" works in the specific ruleset), leads to scum winning. This means that scum have zero incentive to ever shoot the Jester (when they could be killing townies instead), and thus the only way town can win is if the scum shoot the Jester by mistake. (In particular, if the Jester claims, the game will basically come down to whether they want to give away the game to the Jester or to the scum.) It may be possible to prevent the game collapsing via fakeclaiming (or just acting like) Jester as town, but at that point, I don't see how any actual scumhunting can reasonably happen.

I wonder how it would be if town wins if mafia outnumbers them and jester is still alive.

Make it White Flag? That would avoid 1:1:1.

Town technically CAN win in this version, but they're only allowed one mislynch unless scum NK the jester. White Flag doesn't solve the issue of 2:2:1 but you could maybe say that mafia and jester joint if mafia gain majority when jester is lynched. (You could do that in the original too but that's hella scumsided.)

You could also make everyone permanently Hated.
