3 Town JOATs, each with 2 random options from the following sets of abilities:
  • Track + Watch
  • Voyeur + Follower
  • Kill
  • Bodyguard + Roleblock
  • Cop
  • Jailkeep
  • Gunsmith + Commuter
  • Doctor + Vanilla Cop
1 Town Artist (named townie)
1 Ability Cop (randomly discovers one of the abilities that the target player has, if any, with some limitations* Targeting the same player multiple times will reveal different abilities until there are no more that can be revealed.)
5 VTs

vs

3 Mafia JOATs, each taking two random abilities from this list:
  • Tracker
  • Watcher
  • Voyeur
  • Follower
  • Gunsmith
  • Ninjafy
  • Role Cop
  • Doctor
* For JOATs, The Ability Cop will only see abilities that are found on both lists and cannot see mafia abilities.

I'm not sure which side this favors or how swingy it is...
On hiatus indefinitely. This was a nice distraction when I was working through my faith transition out of Mormonism, but I need to move on to bigger and better things now.

Ability Cop is just a Cop with 3 town millers. Confirmable VTs are problematic.

I think this is broken by massclaim.

If all JOATs claim JOAT, all 5 VTs are confirmed. Clearly scum would never do this. If all scum claims VT, all JOATs are confirmed leaving 5 confirmed townies. Scum would also never do this.

Scum either claims 2 PRs or 1 PR.

If 2:
5 JOATs, 6 VTs. Lynch a VT.
Investigative and roleblock JOATs circle confirm while Ability Cop checks VTs. Have someone claim doctor or watcher and say they'll watch the Cop just in case. Vig just shoots VTs.

Similar situation happens with 1 scum PR claim and 4 JOATs to 7 VTs, except it's much more beneficial to just lynch all the VTs.

Scum's abilities are mostly worthless.

Okay. So what this needs to work better is actually more diversification of roles. And not having scum JOATs. Apparently that's bad.

So instead of 3 Town JOATs, perhaps it should be 2 JOATs an an inventor. The powers are taken from the same set as above, but without replacement.

2 Town JOATs
1 Town Inventor
1 Miller
6 VTs

1 Mafia Roleblocker
1 Mafia Godfather
1 Mafia Ninja

Doesn't really fit the name "Renaissance Men" anymore...

But it gives me a setup idea.
