no cussin
3 teachers
10 students
- Lynches and kills are compulsive
- When a student is killed by a teacher, they must curse two players. Those players are cursed from the start of the next day until the end of the game. Players are not aware they are cursed.
- If both players cursed by a student are teachers, or if the last remaining teacher is one of the players cursed, the student immediately wins, but the game silently continues. A night-killed student can still win with the rest of the students upon failing.
- When a cursed teacher performs the night kill, that teacher also dies

The must-lynch part of the setup means that cursing all the scum isn't an autowin unless town have sufficiently large numbers. In turn, that gives town an incentive not to direct the cursings (if the setup wasn't must-lynch, it'd be mathematically correct to direct the cursings in order to prevent a player being redundantly double-cursed). That said, I think directing the cursings is still correct because you don't want tolyncha cursed player until the numbers get lower. (The setup would be a lot easier to analyse if having every scum cursed was an automatic town win, but also a lot less interesting.)
I like the basic idea behind this. I have a suspicion that one cursing is not enough to balance the setup (town need a lot of strength to balance a 10:3, and cursings are powerful when they trigger but hard to trigger).scum· scam · seam · team · term · tern · torn ·town- Bicephalous Bob

Directed curses are less fun, I think. Maybe I should add something like this:In post 4, callforjudgement wrote:That said, I think directing the cursings is still correct because you don't want to lynch a cursed player until the numbers get lower.
Every night, the teachers can choose to lift any number of curses on one of their own. To lift a curse, the teachers name the teacher they think was cursed and the student they think cursed the teacher. If the teachers are right, the curse is removed. If not, the teachers instantly lose.- Bicephalous Bob

I'm not sure that from an individual student's perspective, following town direction is the way to go, especially if you've got two curses. Scum can influence the cursing vote, and if the curses are publicly decided, they have no reason not to kill townies with good reads, which means the killed player should follow their reads and disregard the town's decision, etc.- Bicephalous Bob

If you're not going to lynch in the pool of cursed players in the early days, then you'd curse the players that are slightly less scummy than the players you want to lynch, right? The more I think about this, the worse directing seems. Teachers know exactly which of their members are cursed, so when two teachers are cursed, this is actually a boon to the teachers as long as the remaining teacher stays at large if this means the cursed teachers are less likely to be lynched. If all teachers get to night 3, they will be able to make the kill without any problems unless the town catches all three of them in four curses.Last edited by Bicephalous Bob on Fri Jan 25, 2019 3:18 am, edited 1 time in total.- Bicephalous Bob
