[SETUP] JK/D

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Mon May 27, 2019 12:10 am

2 Mafia Goons
2 Town Jailkeepers
5 Vanilla Townies

If the JKs cross protect, both protections fail.

Once one Mafia Goon dies, both Jailkeepers become Macho Doctors.

Wanted to create a more traditional Mafia setup which is skill based and yet not swingy. Thoughts?

Is jailkeeper really a skill based role? If you target a town aligned player with it, it's good, but on the other hand, if you target a mafia aligned player with it, well, it's good.
I do like it better than anything with a cop though.

Bidding JK/D

2 Mafia Goons
2 Town Bidding Jailkeepers
5 Vanilla Townies

Each night, the jailkeepers target a player and send the mod a number between one and a hundred. The mod compares the numbers of the two jailkeepers. The jailkeeper with a higher number roleblocks their target and doesn't protect it, the jailkeeper with a lower number protects their target and doesn't roleblock it.
When one mafia goon dies, the remaining goon becomes ascetic.

The problem with Jailkeeper is that it becomes a Cop with one Mafia dead which can prevent its own death with a guilty and still get a result after it dies. I tried it to make it less swingly while still balanced.

I’m not sure how that bidding works?

I edited. It's meh though.
I like jailkeeper ok in large closed setups. In small open setups I don't like it quite so much. I'd probably rather play the 2-2-5 masons setup than double JKs.
You certainly want to drop the roleblocking when there's only one goon.
