Numbers up for discussion. Probably close to standard mountaineous ratios?

Any time a vote is reciprocated, both players die and the day ends without a lynch.

Login times/ability to access the thread becomes significant, which is not great for forum mafia (but maybe not a problem at all for marathons/forum mafia). Players who want to perform a lynch without endangering themselves might need to dogpile a player when they are afk for Saturday or something.

Fair point. How about it only happens if reciprocal votes are present at lynch time and not with the lynchee.

Then it's pretty close to vengeful? Which is not bad for open setups, I think heavily vengeful open setups are pretty common/popular.

do keep in mind that this is highly likely to devolve into town attempting to leash the lynch votes and have 2 scumread slots kill each other

so uh it probably balances closer to double day with some caveats regarding scum's ability to manipulate the situation and not vengekill each other

You are right, that's not what I was going for.

How about any three player group can suicide if two of them agree on it.

That would work for two town sure of one scum, and one town sure there is scum in an OMGUS pair.

Would need more town obv.

Also, probably needs to be deactivated in 4 player lylo.

Edit:
Maybe just run this without conventional lynch and nightless. Town loses when they can't force a win anymore, i. e. when townies <= 2 * mafia.

Think this would force townies to play to win. If I have a scum read and null player, I put us on a ticket. If the player is town and he plays to. win, he hammers if he finds either me or my scum read scummy, or he doesn't if he reads both of us town. Either way, he is required to play the game.

impossible to bring more than one scum down in a pairing and generally a super hard setup to play for town

in a situation where you can get one trusted town leader who everyone will follow and everyone who doesn't is scumclaiming there's a decent bit of equity for town

but if that doesn't happen town is lolscrewed

In general, pretty much any setup of this nature is much more townsided if you vote informally on what should happen in a day, and then leash people.

As such, it's typically hard to make this sort of mechanic work, because optimal play when the mechanic exists is typically to set things up so that it can't be used for its intended purpose.
