[SETUP] Texas Malpractise

Texas Malpractise
13 Players

3 Mafia Goons

10 Town 1-Shot Rolestopping Doctors

If a single doctor acts on a player in the night, they will successfully protect the target.
If multiple doctors act on a single player in the night, they will block each other, and the target will not be protected. The one shot is still consumed.
Daystart, Mafia receives a nightly kill as normal.

Came out of a discussion on why Texas Justice didn't work, developed into... well, what you see above. Couldn't spot any breaking strategies immediately, so felt it would be interesting to unleash it here and see if you folks can spot any breaking strategies I missed!

EV Calculation seems nontrivial here, so I throw myself upon your collective mercy on that one. Any thoughts?

EDIT: Updated to a more interesting setup that's less immediately busted than the first suggested setup, which very much was.

Pair all the players up N1

Let's say you lynch town, now we're going 3-9

Each player investigates their partner. 9 town investigations. Mafia can only block 3 of them.

Let's just say they block all the mafia investigations and kill an IC

3 mafia 8 town

The town can all just claim and I don't think mafia ever wins this.

Now if you took out the cop part

And just made it so that if EXACTLY 1 person uses their one shot ability on another person

Then it prevents the kill.

Thoughts on that?

Chennis, had been wondering about this but with one shot doctors too, I admit. With the situation you just described, every pair that is also potentially double scum, which is why I'm unsure if that's a town win.

It's not a town FORCED win but that is so not the bar.

Fair point. Ah well.

So, does as above, but mafia goons, one shot skittish doctor town work?

Yeah, that should work fine.

As to whether you give Mafia goons the same ability or not doesn't really matter. But it'd be funny if they did, used it on the townie they were gonna kill, and it turns out nobody was protecting them

This way coordinating actions becomes almost worthless too.

I think I'll go with no, so it's not possible to just create a strongman kill by using two of them on the kill target

"rolestopping protect" seems like a better name. The way the OP is written right now technically none of the doctors do anything because at least one other player has acted on the target, the mafia player performing the nightkill. Rolestop doesn't affect factional nightkill (mostly not total uniformity on it) so two birds one stone.

At a glance this looks balanced to me
"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"
"Well, I..."

I think it's a pretty good setup, I'd be more excited to play it than a lot of other things that fill.
