Babbling Bjerg Semiopen

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Mon Mar 02, 2020 12:00 pm

All setups have an equal chance.
All players have 1-shot Day 2 Gladiate that narrows onto the options of lynching themselves or voting to
Bar the Doors

Setup 1
2 Mafia Goons

1
Night 2 Public Cop

6
Vanilla Townies

Day 2, town may vote to
Bar the Doors
instead of lynching or no-lynching. If they choose to do so, all town aligned players die.

Setup 2
3 Day 3+ Unlynchable Mafia Goons

5
Vanilla Townie

1
Night 2 Public Cop

During night one, the mafia must cause one town player they do not nightkill to become Babbling Bjerg. Babbling Bjerg is immediately informed that setup 2 is the setup being used and of the identity of one mafia of the mafia's choice.

Day 2, the town may vote to
Bar the Doors
instead of lynching or no lynching. If they
Bar the Doors
, all mafia immediately die.

Spoiler: needs reworking
Setup 32
D2 Vengeful Multiacting Mafia Rolecop

1
Night 2 Naïve Public Cop

6
Vanilla Townie

The mafia must multiact a poison on one of their own N1, causing the player to perish the following night. If there is only one Mafiosi, then instead the Public Cop loses all modifiers ("Public" isn't a modifier).
Day 2, the town may vote to
Bar the Doors
. If they do, day 2 is a no-lynch instead.

I have a sick desire to design Conspiracy-scented setups with a guaranteed informed minority.

No, I should clarify that.

this is a really not fun game.
2019 stats: Town WR 76.7%, overall WR 81.667%, 1 scum defeat involving a major mod error in lylo vs 8 scum wins.

This is definitely pretty thought experimenty, would not be surprised.

If you d1 mislynch in setup 2 (4v3 - 4 to lynch), then you will lose as soon as townie vote mafia player instead of Bar. It seems like 50% chance to win but i would call it way too easy to throw.

Good analysis

Doesn’t this game just become entirely about sorting the babbling berg player

As presumably mafia would basically always fakeclaim babbling bjerg in setup 1

Fakeclaiming bjerg comes with the cost of potentially sacrificing a scum

not insisting this setup is good but it's not a straightforward break I don't think

But would it ever not be optimal to do that as mafia given that you have a chance to win instantly and not doing so would mean that town always know when they’re in setup 2

My main concern with it is less is it purely balanced and more would it be fun to play a game where it will inherently only be important to sort 1 slot

That said, I really lik the concept as a concept and would probably play this

I mean yeah the bjerg claim is forced right?

Bc if not then town know they’re in setup 2 given a bjerg claim and then the correct answer is automatically to bar the doors

And you can’t CC because that’s just further confirmation that the doors need to be barred

what
It's always the same. When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die. You don't know whose children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken. How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they're always going to have to do from the very beginning... SIT DOWN AND TALK!

I might play this irl. Probably never online. You really need to play a bunch of games in a row for the metagame to mean anything.

Want to link one you'd actually like feedback on? I can give some.
