Just to be clear, mountainous is still a stupid name.
(The statistical evidence that town either under- or over-performs EV for a particular setup on this site is at best very weak. There aren't just a ton of open setups with calculable EV in the first place, and fewer still that have been run a significant number of times.)

OkaPoka plays/mods pretty vanilla stuff I think he's being a goober.
Mountainous is fine
It is a dumb name though
"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"
"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"
Yeah, I almost wonder if the name "Mountainous" is a self-fulfilling prophecy (climbing mountains is very hard, reportedly).
Perhaps a less intimidating topographical name would yield more optimistic town win-rates? I suggest "Featureless Plain."

You do want to be clear the setup isn't the one where a bastard mod gives every single player a vanilla town role PM.

when I think of mountainous, I think of a working class setup
its the core of all mafia setups, everything else is bastardization of it and profits of the hard work that is mountainous and while these fancy theme games get the glory and glitz like the boogie setups they are, in the end it is the blood and sweat of mountainous that carries these games to make it enjoyable. if not for mountainous being what it is, game would be excessive and ultimately glamorous yes, but meaningless and insignificant.
when haters think of mountainous, they think of gulags
pure pain and no fun, nightplay is near nonexistent, there is absolute no flash. everybody is equal and the lack of unique roles makes everyone feel insignificant and small, no agency, nothing cool, just a stream of words and votes, who cares. there is no freedom, its just labor until death and the intellectuals are the first to go until it devolves into a war of attrition as people drag their heels through the slodge that are mountainous games that require 5 or 6 lynches to go through to finally just fucking end.
therefore mountainous should be renamed to "communist"

If you cast a spell using only mountains, it's probably going to kill people and not do anything else interesting

Hard agree with this. I've gotten used to it because it's the name people use, though.
If it really has been years since anyone ran a straight-up vanilla game with no special mechanics, and yet it's something folks actually want to play, I'd be happy to drop one into the queue myself. (Or say I'm interested in joining if someone else wants to run it.)
