Before any role choosing happens, all the players have designated alignments.

The Neutral selects the column of the following table (which chooses the scum roles). The mafia will receive that and who is rolled those roles and then selects on a row (which chooses the Town's PR roles).

Role Information

Neutral
wins with the Mafia even if dead, they also survive one Mafia attack.
Neutral Redirector
- Can redirect their target into another each night.
Neutral 1-shot Bulletproof Vengeful
- Survives one town attack, can kill someone that voted them if lynched.
Neutral Rolestopper
- Can stop one town visit from a target each night.
Mafia 1-shot Ninja
- Can select one mafia member to be a ninja. They will show as Town to the Cop and their visit will not be seen by a Tracker.
Cop
- Will be notified if they checked a Mafia. They will receive no result on everybody else.
Tracker
- Will be notified who their target visited. They will receive no result if their target didn't visit.
Jailkeeper
- Roleblocks and protects their target from kills.
2-shot Vigilante
- Can kill twice per game.
2-shot PGO
- Twice per game you kill all visitors

I think you want to go no more restrictive than necessary, just in general, y'know.

Matrixes are fine I dont think that's particularly restrictive if you don't layer too many additional restrictions onto it.
I'm assuming you mean spatially based setups and not semiopen matrices since we just finished a semiopen challenge so it would be yuck to require semiopen twice in a row

yeah im thinking of doing just spatial matrix but i need to figure out a way to define it so its not too restrictive but also not just coalition but hey look everybody is on a grid poggers

A matrix of restrictions would be an interesting idea, as long as you like only need to follow at least two restrictions in a row or column
