3 Mafia Goons
Night 1 is the first Night. Mafia kills as normal.
Night 2 is skipped.
The number of Mafia alive after Day 3 directs the rest.
0 Mafia alive:Game over, town wins.
1 Mafia alive - Game is nightless until the end.
2 Mafia alive - The game is not Nightless until the end. However, everyone selects a person every night for the instance they are killed by the Mafia Nightkill. That person will die if they are killed by the Mafia.
3 Mafia alive - The same as 2 Mafia alive, however, it does not apply to Night 3... and people can also choose not to kill.

8 Town


Dance phase where players pair up and gain PTs with dance partner, but do not become Lovers.
Then, the game alternates between day and night phases, with a night coming first.
During the night, the mafia may make a dance pair fall in love, turning them into Lovers. On the other hand, they may instead kill a pair they turned Lovers in a previous night, or kill anyone who doesn't have a dance partner.
During the day, players are informed of new Lovers, and the town launch a player as normal.

I guess it's pretty scumsided so it could probably be changed to 2 Mafia and 9 Town, with someone being left out of the dance day 1.

That doesn't address Pooky's concerns but it'd make the OG more balanced for sure.
Had another idea:

Countdown to Nightfall


4 Mafia

10 Town


Start of the game, the mafia assigns every player a unique number from 1 to 14.
The first launch of a day phase may be on anybody.
The game will remain in the day phase as long as each subsequent launch is on a player with a smaller number than the previous one.
Otherwise, the game enters a night phase where mafia may kill one player.

Treestump ICs are kind of hmm though, it can be a frustrating role for scum since it's a voice they can never remove and the power of it depends heavily on who rolls it, while it can also be frustrating for the treestump themselves, since they don't have a vote for the entirety of the game.

Players numbers are made public in the new one

1 Mafia Compulsive Weak Doctor Selective PGO Traitor

2 Town Trackers
8 Indecisive Compulsive Visitors

  • Mafia are aware of identity of Traitor, but Traitor does not know their identity. Mafia can not speak privately with Traitor.
  • Setup starts normal with nightkills and night actions.
  • Upon the death of the Traitor, the game becomes nightless.
  • Selective means the traitor must submit an ordered playerlist for their PGO. The highest player on the list who targeted them dies. Other players who targeted them do not. They must also submit their Weak Doc target with this.
