excuse me if i'm misunderstanding the CPR doctor here (just seems like a regular doctor to me) but isn't this just a weaker version of follow the cop?
granted there's one positive and one false positive that the tracker can get at the start of the game and mafia will likely lure out the CPR doctor in the case of a positive
but a mafia kill for basically free still seems really good
CPR doc is much closer to a Vigilante than a Doctor. If the target did not need saving, then they die. If the target did need saving, then they are saved. Since it’s a 7:2 ratio, Town doesn’t have the numbers to gain KP from the vig. Doing so will simply waste their second elimination and bring the game to Mylo. As such, CPR doc acts mostly as just an activated IC. It *can* decide to use on an outed Tracker to try to save them from mafia kills, but this is risky and getting it wrong (or right) will decide the game in imo an uninteresting way.
Tracker as a role overall becomes stronger once a mafia dies and that’s even more so the case with the gunbearers. The death of the Backup Gunbearer will confirm all previous Tracker blues as town. Micros swing on the death of the first mafia in general, so this is not a unique criticism at all, just something that should be acknowledged. I’m not sure what the balance overall would be. If newd3’s B1 was considered balanced enough to be in the setup then this would be townsided. The stats page for Newd3 hasn’t been updated in months though, so I’m not sure.
