every day, players maybe propose a repartition of every players in pairs in order to advance the ritual, while leaving one player aside, that proposition will pass if it is accepted by the majority
once a proposition is passed, the following happens
if any of the pairs contains 2 doubl agents members, the ritual will fail to advance, and the game will enter in an intermediate phase, where the players vote to eliminate one of the pairs
if the ritual advances, both the person who was excluded from the pairs and the person who was paired with the player making the proposition will instantly die, and we move on to another proposition phase
the cultists win if they manage to make the ritual advance 3 times or bring down the double agents to one / zero member
the double agents win if they manage to make the advancement of the ritual fail 3 times or gain parity over the cultists
so, that's my take at a resistance-like setup, thought that having scum try to talk themselves into pairing with another scum would bring some interesting dynamics
yes i didn't realize this had some pretty big similarities with a dance game lol
