[SETUP] Getaway Car

Mafia are normally kill-less.

The vote is not to eliminate, instead, it is to designate a Driver.

The Driver nominates two other people to get in the Getaway Car with them, then night begins.

During the night the three occupants of the Getaway Car vote amongst themselves to kick someone out of the car, returning them to the main cohort. Once this vote is complete (and it is compulsive), the kicked-out player returns to the main group and the other two are Safehoused.

Repeat this process until all but one player make it. That player is Safehoused at the start of "Night 4" (as there's no preceding Day phase.)

Once everyone has come to the safehouse, the Mafia are granted a number of nightkills based on the below formula:

Code: Select all

4 – (night# in which the second mafia member was safehoused.)

  • If both Mafia members got in on the first day, they have 3 nightkills.
  • If the second Mafia member got in on the second day, they have 2 nightkills.
  • If the second Mafia member got in on the third day, they have 1 nightkill.
  • If the second Mafia member was the last one to the Safehouse, they have no nightkills.
After those kills the game becomes nightless with votes to eliminate.

This
hopefully
fixes some of the issues present in the original Getaway Car game – most notably I increased it to a 9p, and second most notably I changed nightkills to be based on day versus players.

Are those nightkills happening one at a time each night?

with the alignments being 7v2, isn't this game completely broken?

(4) If the second Mafia member was the last one to the Safehouse, they have no nightkills.
(1) in this scenario, three nightkills fire. they kill three townies, and there are 4 townies and 2 mafia left. due to there being three nightkills, the town immediately knows both mafia were in the first car. they are voted out, gg.

(2) two nightkills fire, you're left with 5 townies and 2 mafia. due to knowing that both mafia were in the first two cars, you have only 4 people that can possibly be mafia, you're playing 5v2 nightless with 3 ic's. you can just vote out all 4 of those players, gg.

(3) one nightkill, 6 townies and 2 mafia left. 6 possible scum (the three pairs in the first three cars), two ic's. while a 6v2 nightless with two confirmed townies is
theoretically
winnable for scum (if they scored every single theoretically possible misyeet), town is also aware that there is at least one mafia member in the pair that made it to the safehouse on the third day. town votes out both of those in that pair, and worst case scenario they are left with two ic's in a 1v5 nightless game. that's unwinnable for scum, gg.

(4) the second mafia member is outed and immediately voted out. you are left with a 1v7 nightless game. this is the only scenario that is theoretically winnable for scum, but i reckon it would be a very unfun game for everyone involved.
I will straight up disregard all reason if you have a PR dream again. You can come back and be like, “I dreamt that Locke is a N2 Bulletproof Multitasking Cop and Self-Targeting Doctor,” and I will go, “Okay, Locke kill it is then.”

As a nine person with fewer day kills you might consider going back to your first scum saved determines the order idea. Not only are you less likely to hit scum on save 1/2, town no longer outright loses. Additionally, fixing the number of daykills means you can probably keep the transition to having a night phase.

D1 is a 4v2 with a 1v1
D2 is a 5v2 with a 1v1
D3 is a 6v2 with a 1v1 and 3 ICs
D4 is a townwin.

(Note, all of the 1v1s have the potential of being S/S)

This probably leans townsided in the current site meta, but not enough to make it unrunnable.
This is a Parachute.

At 7p with the same kill numbers this becomes

Scum win.
2v3 nightless with 1-2 scum in a pair and an IC.
1v4 nightless.

Nightless with ICs is almost always a bad idea.
