This setup was originally designed for one of the monthly challenges from a couple of years ago, I'm merely moving it to its own thread so that I can more easily refer to it later on.

9 Town Vanilla

4 Mafia Vanilla


The game has a standard elimination round, except that the only possible elimination targets are gladiated, as selected by the following mechanics:

At the beginning of the game, the mafia team selects three players. These three players are the only ones that may be eliminated in the first day. Plurality rules apply.
During Day: Standard day phase. The town selects one player to eliminate.
During Twilight: If town is eliminated, that town will select one player that becomes included within the gladiated list of players. They have 24 hours to do so. The thread will be closed during this phase.
During Night: The mafia are given an opportunity to place another player within the ring. They have 24 hours to do so. The thread will be closed during this phase.
There are no restrictions on who may be placed inside the gladiated ring, except that if there is no mafia within the ring at the start of night phase, the mafia must place one within the ring.

The mafia have no factional nightkill.
The mafia are given a one-shot factional ability (usable only during night) to shuffle the gladiated list up to the number of players that would otherwise be in the ring.

Town wins if all four mafia are eliminated.
Mafia wins if the gladiated list contains every remaining player and at least one mafia is still alive or if this can no longer be avoided. Effectively, if there are more mafia than players outside of the ring, mafia wins.

Factional Abilities
1. During Night: Once per game, you may shuffle the current gladiator ring, placing a new set of players inside the ring up to the amount that would otherwise be inside it. This list must contain at least one mafia.

During Pregame: Select three players that are placed inside the gladiator ring. This list must contain at least one mafia.
During Day: You may vote to eliminate any player that is currently inside the gladiator ring.
During Night: You must place another player inside the gladiator ring. If there are no mafia inside the ring during this phase, you must place mafia inside it.

You win if the gladiated list contains every remaining player and at least one
Mafia
is still alive, or if this can no longer be avoided.


Just some notes:

1. Every time town is eliminated, the amount of players in the ring goes up by one. Zero town eliminations = 3, One = 4, Two = 5, etc. This is maintained even through the mafia shuffling the ring.
2. Mafia wins if there is ever more mafia than there are players outside of the ring. In this current iteration, this means that town can afford to miss three eliminations. If this turns out to be too scumsided, adding 2 town increases the amount of miselims by one.
3. I'm expecting that the information of there being at least one scum in the ring at all times is enough to offset the lower amount of miselims available, even if you include the factional shuffle ability.

This seems like an interesting setup with interesting mechanics.
