Will leave in vague terms for now as this is just a mechanic idea.

Decentralized
is a modifier that causes power roles to perform
part
of an action, expressed as a percentage, that once it reaches 100%, all who contributed to the action receive the benefit/take the action. Round up percentages.

As an example:

Town Decentralized Cops


The Cop action is decentralized among 3 people currently, so each one does 34% of the Cop action.

If a Decentralized Cop targeted, say,
Alice the VT
, then Alice would be 34% Copped. If another one targeted Alice later (or even the same one!), then Alice would be 68% copped. Once one more Decentralized Cop targets Alice, then she would be 102% copped, and then each Decentralized Cop who contributed to the action receives the result:
Alice is Town.


As another example:

Town Decentralized Vigilantes

We'll refer to them as Alice, Bob, Carol, and Donna. Ed is a VT and Felix is a Goon.

The Vigilante is decentralized among 4 people currently, so each one does 25% of the Vigilante action.

Bob -> Ed
Carol -> Ed
Donna -> Felix
Felix -> Carol


Bob is 25% Vigged, Ed is 50% Vigged, Felix is 25% Vigged.

Carol has died. There are now 3 Decentralized Vigilantes, each one now performs 34% of the Vigilante action.

night twoAlice -> Felix
Bob -> Alice
Donna -> Felix
Felix -> Donna


Alice is 34% Vigged, Bob is 25% Vigged, Ed is 50% Vigged, Donna is 34% Vigged, and Felix is 93% Vigged.

Donna has died. There are now 2 Decentralized Vigilantes, each one now performs 50% of the Vigilante action.

night threeAlice -> Ed
Bob -> Felix
Felix -> Bob


Alice is 34% Vigged, Bob is 25% Vigged, Ed is 100% Vigged, and Felix is 143% Vigged. Both Ed and Felix die, as well as Bob.

This now leaves Alice, all alone.

I'm not sure how I would do it differently, but this method of decentralizing investigation results seems OP. If one decentralized cop can crumb their target N1, and the others then pick the same target, multiple people get the same result? Consider how different that is from having to believe a cop claim before you believe their result - this method basically creates 3 cops who get the same result, as long as one of them is good at crumbing. Which... is fine I guess, since it doesn't have to have the same amount of power as a regular cop. It just contrasts with the decentralized vig, which DOES feel closer to [1 vig, but spread out]

"Town" < this person gets a result and no one else does

lol unless I'm missing another good way to make that work.

Here's a similar but different way to decentralize:

Radar Aimer - Can target someone each night
Radar Reader - Receives a cop result on whoever the radar aimer targeted

This one has the WIFOM of not knowing if the matching role is your same alignment or not
