{ROUND 12: BRAWL}

Pyramid

Pyramid is a long-running game show that has never seen extensive play in Mish Mash. But why not?

GAME RULES

This game will take place in a Chatzy (an online chatroom) when all four players can be online.

At the beginning of the game, both teams are shown six categories, whose titles give vague clues to their possible meaning (for instance, "I'm All Wet" might pertain to things found in water). Once the category is chosen, its exact meaning is given. For up to 1 minute, one team member gives clues to their partner for a series of 7 items belonging to a category, which will be given to the clue-giver privately in a list. One point is scored for each item correctly guessed. If a word is passed, the clue-giver can not go back to that word, but if the receiver knows the word later on and guesses it, the team still earns a point. Both teams will alternate taking turns. The veterans will be clue-givers for Round 1, the rookies for Round 2, and Round 3 each team gets to pick who gives clues. After both teams have taken 3 turns, the team with the higher score will move onto the Winners' Circle. If there's a tie, a tiebreaker category will be played.

The winning team from the main game plays "The Winners' Circle," in which the goal is to communicate six categories of increasing difficulty within 2 minutes, using only lists of words and phrases that fit them. One team member gives clues to the category currently in play, while the other tries to guess it. An illegal clue (giving a word in the category, etc.) results in the category being thrown out, making it impossible for the team to win that category. If all six categories are guessed before time runs out, the team wins the Brawl; if not, the team wins $100 for the first three categories, $200 for the fourth and fifth, and $300 for the last category. The clue-giver can pass on a category and then return to it after playing through all six, if time allows.

Once a team completes all 6 categories in the Winners' Circle, the game will end and that team will win. However, if the team doesn't finish all categories, they will receive money for the categories they did complete and we will start the game over with new clues and categories. If after 2 complete games, no team has won, then the team that cumulatively won the most money in the Winners' Circle will win the Brawl. In the event of a tie, the team with a higher cumulative score throughout both games will win.

Monday is an absolute no for me. The rest of the week can be possible any time so long as it's figured out rather quickly.
