Will we get to see the horrendously godawful creations we designed duke it out step by step rather than just having the final results shown?

That was our plan!
So my PM is in your outbox. I made some changes to my initial bot (I originally made some potential programming errors/oversights so needed to fix a couple spots so it'd work as intended), and I just wanted to make sure you got it.

BTW I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed that this isn't a team challenge.

You could easily make it work as one:
Have each team submit 4 bots.
Up to 4 players can work on one bot, but cross-bot communication is banned; each bot-building team would be isolated from each other. (So, no working together so that your whole team wins; no individual on more than one bot-building team.) Each player would need to be on a bot-building team.

The remaining bots (3?) would be designed by spectators, just like now.

The winning team would be the team whose bot placed the highest across all 3 games, with ties resolved similarly to how they are now.

Keep in mind that the same criteria for the winner would apply for this as our current criteria for the loser. So, it'd be the highest of the player team bots, just like right now it's the lowest of the player bots. (In short, just like right now if the lowest across all games is a spectator bot, we still lose a player, if the highest bot was a spectator, we'd still have a team bot winner.)

(Which means that you could run this with as few as 4 left on a team, or as many as 12, and any number between!)

Submissions are finalized now, right, so can we at least talk about our bots? I want to share my creative genius process, dammit. :P

Spoiler: Here's my "programming"
LUCK: 500.
SKILL: 0.
DEXTERITY: 60.
SPEED: 30.
MEMORY: 30.
ENDURANCE: 30.
CuddlyCaucasian wrote:HOH DECISIONS: Who will be your initial nominees?
NEVER NOMINATE: self. Past that: The bots with the lowest luck scores. If there is a tie, the bots with the highest skill scores.

IF self IS NOMINATED, ALWAYS USE VETO ON self. Past that: Veto the bot with the highest luck score. If there is a tie, veto the bot with the lowest skill score.
CuddlyCaucasian wrote:How will you determine a nominee if veto is used?
The next on the list. So if the two bots initially nominated had lucks of 0 and 2 and the bot with 0 luck was vetoed, then, say, a bot with 4 luck would be put up in its place. This continues when ties come up.

NEVER EVICT: self. Past that: Evict the lowest luck score first.
Evict the highest skill score second.

Always use the veto.

If self in running, use it; if self is not in running, follow criteria for veto.

Vote for lowest luck score first. Vote highest skill score second.

The bot will vote for the bot whose stats are closest to its own, in the priority of Luck (if tied, higher luck > lower luck) > Skill > Dexterity > Endurance > Memory > Speed.

BOT NAME:
self
