but you get what i mean. And it's especially true on MS Survivors where you know everyone is trying pretty hard to get to the end. Here it's more a matter of them having a full grasp of their game and how they got to the end, and then how that stacks up against the others.

winner gets the highest payout, first boot gets second highest payout, second boot gets third highest, etc. until second place gets the lowest payout

Someone might have brought this up already, but you could rank 2nd/3rd place based on how many votes they got in FTC? Someone who got 4/9 votes or only lost in a tiebreaker runoff probably deserves a decent payout, someone who was unanimously ignored probably doesn't.

(To be clear, the winner would still get $1,000,000 regardless. This could presumably also work with ELOs, come to think of it.)

I think its a little odd personally. Winning is winning the vote. Doesn't matter how close! Like if you have a solid majority of say 5 people who will for sure vote you, and you win 5-4, i feel like that is still a "dominant" win in the same way 7-3 or something would be.

I think it gives some hedge cases a weird look?

I think awarding based on FTC vote is problematic and doesn't really solve the issue of how much to reward winning vs. just doing well.

To be fair, the winner under that system would always still get the same boost regardless of votes--using jury votes as a metric would only act as a judgment on the runner up. And I do think, for that purpose, that anyone whose strategy involved getting 0 votes in FTC deserves to be slighted, while 4 votes at least means that you weren't universally hated and it wouldn't be an insult to the system to give you $100,000 or so. It isn't perfect, but yeah.

fan fave 100k is good but we'd probably need to only do that in games where IDs arent revealed idk

I would actually like having a static payout for first and then variable payouts for 2nd/3rd depending on how many Jury votes they got.

I just wouldn't want people intentionally casting Jury votes in the minority to influence that, you should vote for who you want to win.
