how many idols?
the show seems to like one per tribe with replacement. if i were to adjust that at all i'd go less-ward.
i sign this
this, especially because on forum survivor you dont get to see people off hunting for idols so literally anyone could have it and there's no risk in trying to find one

a few games have tried to come up with cute ways to combat this but i dont think it was worked really

But yeah with constant swaps there's no incentive to care about how many challenges your tribe wins in the long-term. Literally the main reason I started doing more challenge-based games is that challenge design takes up the most time in modding Survivor, and it's the aspect of the game the majority of people care the least about
this is correct

People will often try to overlook the obvious weak/inactive player because they know they can just take out a threat to them instead and there's no incentive to taking out weak players early other than "keeping the peace" which leads to boring games and boring merges

It would be cool if someone designed a survivor game that was only challenges with no strategy, tribes, or eliminations

I remember getting to that website so quickly that I caught an issue with the member list and made it so that anybody that found the board would see that I found it well before them. Had to get the mods to log into everyone's account to fix it.

Nexus Cow Level idol had the same thing. Winston told Tyrael that he had the idol because he saw Tyrael on the last part.

Hey, so I've been thinking about a large social game idea that started out as a weird Survivor knock-off but has steadily progressed (in my head, at least) to a beast of its own. Working title 'The Bureaucracy', it's a social game with no PMing, but rather players are sorted into several various groups that they can talk to each other in, with different sizes and overlapping members. Instead of challenges, each player will vote for a group to attend the TC-like ceremony, and the group(s) with the most votes will each go. And as a final main change, instead of the player with the most votes at each TC(ish thing) being eliminated when the votes are counted, instead the votes all pile up over time. The running tally is kept public and after a few rounds a number of players with the most votes at that time are eliminated. Then a reshuffling is done, placing players in new groups with new overlaps, and the game continues in its smaller size. Fewer groups of smaller sizes until we get to the last several players. I'm not certain of the endgame scenario yet.
So yeah, looking for people who are interested in refining, designing and running this. Or feedback like this is a bad idea and here's why, you dummy.
I know that there's red tape to me running the game like needing comods with proper experience and such, and needing to be at least a little more established in the community. I'm totally gonna toe whatever line is needed to meet those requirements. Just wanted to make this post now because I'm excited to start talking about it now, and I can wait in whatever lines i need to wait in before I can mod.

Looks cool
Only issue i can see would be for people who know they are going out but having 2 or 3 more rounds left potentially losing interest?

I suppose it's a mindset difference, but I would look at it like 'ok I'm in trouble, but now I have 2 or 3 rounds to fix it instead of just being blindsided'.

Ok cool if the numbers are balanced to make coming back possible that would work fine.

Soap Opera is officially happening.

Low twist game (and actually low-twist, not Civ "low twist"). 18 players. Need 2 comods.
