(something something you threw the first challenge and kept it secret from your team)
(something something "oh the final challenge will be live even though everyone explicitly has to participate and the mods aren't stupid enough to force everyone on at the same time, but anyways JDGA won't be able to make it so let's throw her out" you sleazeball)

As the last rays of sunlight fade, one killer chases another through the tangled madness of the city.
A flash of steel announces the presence of his quarry.

The final Fortress of the season will be live. Fill out the below whenisgood to indicate your availability, keeping in mind that the challenge should require a time commitment of about an hour. The challenge will demand a base-level knowledge of using Google Sheets, so if you aren't familiar with it, a mod will be happy to help you become comfortable enough with using it. You will also need simple image editing software as well as a method of uploading photos (Gyazo is recommended).

Knot So Fast

This is a favorite on The Challenge, but to adapt it to online play we'll be doing it a bit differently. In 5 minutes, both competitors will be privately sent a link to a file on Google Sheets. It will have 36 rows and 78 columns, with all the cells being fairly small and having nothing in them. Your job? Create the hardest maze possible using only the cells provided and cell borders. You will then have 20 minutes to create borders around cells any way you like to craft a maze. The only rules regarding this are as follows:

  • You cannot create new rows or columns.
  • All borders used MUST be black. Please keep thickness of border at default.
  • You must mark a start cell and a finish cell with a yellow color, neither of which necessarily need to be touching the outside border of the maze.
  • It should go without saying, but your maze must have at least one possible solution.
Once 20 minutes have gone by, your progress will be stopped, and a few minutes later both players will receive an image of their opponent's maze. You must then use your image editing software to draw a line from the start to the finish of the maze, without passing through any black borders or leaving the confines of the maze. The first player to publicly post a screenshot of the solved maze will advance to the final challenge of the game, while the loser will come up just short of a chance at victory.

You are not allowed to use other mazes as a reference, nor can you enlist other people for assistance.

Spreadsheet links will be sent via PM in 5 minutes, upon which your 20 minutes will start.

At xx:40, both maze images will be sent to the person who will be solving them.

JDGA, you have won the Fortress and a spot in the final. D3f3nd3r, you came so close, but you unfortunately will not be competing with your team in the end.

JDGA, would you like to mutiny to Blue, or stay on Purple?
