Backwards Rs are still cool, right?

It's been quite a while since the last non-anonymous large social game, and even longer since the last one that wasn't Survivor or Big Brother. There's more this site has to offer than those two concepts, so if you're up for trying something new, this is the game for you. To apply, click the link below and fill out an application.

Spoiler: Game Rules
General Rules

[A01]
This is a game. You should play to have fun, and to win. You should not prohibit others from doing the same. You should show respect to all participants at all times. We understand this is a game that deals with a lot of emotions, and you should feel free to show that emotion -- just don't push it too far. If in doubt, ask.

[A02]
This game is
non-anonymous.
All actions in the game will take place on Mafiascum. However, players are encouraged to communicate through any other means they find most convenient, such as Skype or Facebook. You are
prohibited
from sharing screenshots of your private conversations, and from sharing private messages in a way that can't be falsified, such as the quote function on Skype.

[A03]
You should not take any action which disrupts or undermines the integrity of the game. You should also not take any action that brings the game into disrepute. This includes, but is not limited to, cheating in or explicitly seeking to break challenges, communicating with players you are not permitted to, communicating information using screenshots or PM forwarding. If in doubt, ask.

[A04]
If there is a problem, or there has been a mistake made, discuss it with a mod.

[A05]
In superficially breaking one of the rules in this ruleset, an Official Warning will be given. If the breach is substantial, or a second breach of any named rule is made, discretionary sanctions will be applied. If the breach if excessive, or a further breach is made after sanctions, you will be modkilled. This is your only (unofficial) warning.

[A06]
We reserve the right at any time to implement new rules. We reserve the right to use our discretion in disciplining players as we see fit, if a situation not covered by these rules arises, using A04 as a guide. We reserve the right to refrain from disciplining players if we believe the offence is sufficiently minor. Should these rules be substantively altered at any time, you will be informed.

Game Mechanics

Format
[/align]

[B01]
The game starts with 24 players competing in an individual challenge, where the three winners become team captains, drafting all the other players onto their teams in a snake draft.
[B02]
The captain of each team will become the holder of their team’s
Safety Token
, the effects of which will be explained later. After that, the captain has no additional perks or responsibilities.
[B03]
If a team is reduced down to one member, and at least one of the opposing teams has at least four members left, all teams with four members or more will hold a vote for who to send to join the one-man team. Anyone holding a Safety Token can not be voted out of their team.

Challenges

[C01]
To start most rounds, there will be a team challenge, where the winning team earns immunity from the Fortress, a duel for elimination.
[C02]
All outcomes of challenges are final, subject to A04.
[C03]
A range of challenge styles has been designed, to test different skills. We cannot provide for all players all the time, but we have tried our best to make challenges as level and fair as possible.
[C04]
Unless otherwise stated, the use of outside resources during any challenge is strictly prohibited. Any players found in violation of this rule will be immediately eliminated. Regardless, we have tried to craft a game where cheating is, for the most part, impossible.
[C05]
WARNING:
Multiple challenges in this game will involve audio. Therefore, we regretfully cannot recommend this game for the hearing-impaired.

The Fortress

[D01]
After a winning team is determined from the challenge, each of the losing teams then begin the Fortress selection process. Whoever holds the Safety Token picks one member of their team to pass the Token to. That player then chooses another team member to give the Token to, avoiding people who have already touched the Token. Eventually, only one member on the team will not have touched the Token; that player will enter the Fortress.
[D02]
The players selected for the Fortress from each of the losing teams will then face off in a duel where the loser is eliminated from the game.
[D03]
Rules C02, C03, and C04 apply to any Fortress challenge as well.
[D04]
The winner of the Fortress has the option to mutiny to the other losing team if they desire. Either way, the Fortress winner becomes the new Safety Token holder on their team. Since this leaves one team without a Safety Token holder, the winner of the Fortress chooses who on that team becomes the new Token holder.

Twists

[E01]
Some rounds may contain twists that shake up the standard format, so do not become too comfortable. Regardless of the twist, anyone holding a Safety Token at the start of a round cannot be eliminated that round under any circumstance.

Final Challenge

[F01]
At a predetermined point in the game, there will be a final team challenge, where all members of the team will participate and must contribute. You may benefit from having more members in the Final, but dead weight could bring you down.
[F02]
Despite the fact that you are sending individuals into the elimination round, this is first and foremost a team game. There is no merge or team swap, you are with your team until the end or until you choose to mutiny after winning a Fortress.
[F03]
Even though this is a team game, you do not win as an individual unless you are a member of the winning team in the final challenge. By signing up for this game, you are expected to fight to avoid anything that isn't a victory for you personally.

Player Contract

We are requiring all players, in lieu of other methods of rule compliance, to agree to a player contract in submitting an application. Please read it carefully. If you foresee that you will be unable to follow this contract, please discuss it with a mod: while we do want to accommodate you, we cannot accept any player who cannot obey this contract.

[Y01]
By submitting an application to play and/or spectate, you agree to abide by all these rules.

[Y02]
By submitting an application, you agree that you have read and acknowledged all these rules.

[Y03]
By submitting an application, you forfeit ignorance of the rules as an excuse.

[Y04]
By submitting an application, you forfeit plausible deniability of acceptable standards as an excuse. This means you may not claim that you thought your actions erred on the right side of the line.

[Y05]
By submitting an application, you agree to be active in your participation in accordance with these rules, and shall not flake.

[Y06]
By submitting an application, you accept that you are bound by the honour system, and must at all times remain bound by it.

[Y07]
By submitting an application, you accept that breaching this contract may result in replacement, modkilling, sanctions, and/or blacklisting.

[Y08]
If you are unwilling or unable to obey this contract at any time, you must notify the mods
immediately

Thank you everyone for applying! We've exceeded 24 applications, and due to the schedules of several applicants, we're moving game start forward to June 15th, or 2 days from now. If you've yet to create an avatar, please do so by the 15th. If you're still considering sending in an application, it's not too late!

If you'll have limited access when the game starts, make sure to let us know. We're sending the captains' challenge to those people ahead of time, although it won't provide any advantage.

Welcome to Andorra. The 24 of you will battle it out here for a handsome cash prize.

Image

Image

I'm TJ Lavin, pro BMX legend and actual vampire. I'll be your host this season, but only barely.

Image
You've all got a lot to prove, so let's meet you one by one.

Image
TWIE

He placed in the middle of the pack in COTM 2016 and Survivor: MLS. In the past, he's put the challenges ahead of those silly politics, but it's come back to bite him. Will he adapt to the players around him? Or will he be able to make it work winning the whole way through?

Image
PRIVATEI

PrivateI has done consistently well in Survivor games, despite never putting out a win. He's always known as a likable guy, which can play against him. Will he finally be able to assert his dominance, or will he become "Big Moves Maddie" 2.0?

Image
D-NAME

DisplayName is a rookie to the Challenge Circuit. There's not much history to go into on him, but he had the most impressive application of anyone on the cast. Will he live up to that early promise, or will he fizzle out into nothingness?

Image
SUMMER

There's three things you need to know about Summer: She hates Dan Kilby, she loves winning Survivor, and she's been accused of being a "bully".
She reached the end of School Survivor by finding two idols and winning a string of crucial immunities, but she's never played a game in the Challenge Circuit. Will she be able to let her social skills reign supreme, or will she be crushed by the unfamiliar format?

Image
CHEERY

Cheery can be hard on himself, but don't let that fool you. He was a runner-up in Survivor: Abridged by 1 vote, and narrowly lost in the final Temple of Fate in Super Mario Endurance. He was a r.obbed f.an f.avorite in Reality Show X. Will his lovableness shine through, or will he continue his recent run of early defeats?

Image
STD

Despite an unfortunate abbreviation, Save The Dragons has come close to dominating every game he's entered, with his lowest placement in Survivor being 9th place. However, he's yet to win since his very first time out in Survivor: Hogwarts. Will he finally make a comeback, or will his bad luck continue?

Image
JDGA

JDGA has always been a top tier challenge performer, but fights with Salamence in Pokémon Colosseum almost prevented her from making it to the end. Will her prowess prove strong once again, or will more fights develop and divide her team?

Image
SHREK

Somebody once told me that Shrek was a fan favorite in Survivor: One World, although he was hated by most of the players. Will he become one of the sharpest tools in the shed? Or will his brain get smart while his head gets dumb?

Image
D3F3ND3R

He's played more games than almost anyone on the site, and has still yet to win. Through a run of bad luck, he was the first person out of COTM 2016. Will this finally be his year, or is it still not his weekend?

Image
AUDACIOUS

She's a famous Ariana Grande and Jenna Morasca stan, and a notorious Survivor player on Roblox. However, this is her first attempt at a game here on MS. Will she be a dangerous woman, or fail to break free?

Image
MCMENNO

McMenno is a notorious memelord and shitposter. After a very early departure from COTM 2016, he had a run of bad performances on Survivor before finally making the merge in One World. Will he be the one, or will he be r.obbedie rotten?

Image
RANDY

Randy is one of the people with the least experience in the cast. He's hungry, he's a huge fan of RHAP, and he knows what to do to jump right into the game even without playing many himself.

Image
KDOWNS

Kdowns has been around in the challenge scene longer than anyone in this game, but has yet to pull out a win. He's had bad luck in Survivor recently, falling early in both Nexus and School Survivor, so he's back to prove that returning from Redemption Island in Survivor: Greece wasn't a fluke.

Image
HASCHEL

Since we last saw Haschel Cedricson, he became the winner of COTM 2016 AND was anointed as a moderator of the new LSG forum in which we're battling today. The only place he can go from here is down. Will he be able to maintain his tough legacy?

Image
XALXE

Xalxe narrowly lost in the finals of COTM 2016 by 6 minutes to Haschel and Klick, and he's not coming here to make that mistake again. He hasn't won a game since Survivor: Seafoam Islands, and that was years ago. Has his experience modding Magic Kingdom and designing Pirate Master helped hone his challenge skills, or has he taken too much time away from playing?

Image
KACES

It's no secret that KingdomAces prefers any challenge-based aspect of a game to the social mechanics. In Survivor: Medevac Island, he gained a reputation for being a robot, but in that case there were no challenges to save him. We'll see if a challenge-driven game will help him reach another victory.

Image
SENSFAN

After a long hiatus from competition on Mafiascum, SensFan returned for School Survivor and made it all the way to the final three. He lost due to a tied jury vote, with Summer casting the vote that caused him to become the runner-up. Will they be able to put their differences aside, or will his time away from MS come back to bite him?

Image
AURA

Aurathebirb. She was a fan favorite and excellent strategist in Survivor: One World. This is her first experience in an environment with challenges on MS, but she's far from being the only rookie here. Will her connections from One World carry over, and can she make new ones?

Image
PEG

The man once known for getting into constant fights has mellowed out much more lately, and came close to winning Big Brother: Summer of Spookz through an incredible double veto play and a few key challenge wins. Will he bring back the DRAMA, maintain his strong performance, or BOTH?

Image
BROSEIDON

BROseidon never shies away from making his opinion known on many matters, which will make him fit right in with the MTV Challenge cast. He always talks about how he's a stereotypical merge boot, but this game has no merge. It may work in his favor.

Image
GRUMPY

He performed extremely well in his two Survivor outings so far, both part of the Medevac series, but he's yet to compete in a challenge that isn't stamina-based. He's also never watched The Challenge, which means he probably has a lot in common with most of this cast.

Image
RACEFAN

Racefan has had a tumultuous history so far on Mafiascum. He came close to the end of Medevac Island and was 6 minutes away from winning COTM 2016 with Xalxe. Sadly, he was the first person voted out of One World due to his schedule. Which end of the Racefan spectrum will we see this time?

Image
IPS

Iprobablysuck: a username that so far has unfortunately rang true, as he went out early in COTM 2016. On the other hand, that means that the only direction he can go from there is up. This could be a redemption arc to challenge that of Cara Maria.

Image
FLAMEAXE

He came here to eat ass and kick bubblegum, and he's all out of catchphrases. He's modded fairly frequently in recent years, but hasn't played much. Will his experience running games with someone way cooler than him help him out, or will this game fail to be a magic moment?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

I like challenge based games, but after Kingdom Clash I haven't actually had much success, let's see how well I do this time. I'll do my best to the very end. After the captain's challenge at least, because I absolutely do not want to be captain.

You are now welcome to talk with any other players as you please. Since you'll all be living in one big house, you'll be able to freely communicate with other teams, although usually discussion about ongoing challenges will be prohibited.

Every season of The Challenge begins with a toast from Johnny Bonanza, so buy alcohol for everyone and bring it home. Winner gets more screentime
