I think she was in a bad spot, but she did have someone from her former tribe on that swap, and she was made a target for other reasons (as opposed to her tribemate, or Abi all alone getting a friend Alexis next round, or trying to cut down Moon's majority).
Is this regular, though? It's my understanding (i.e. correct me if i'm wrong) she went for the same reason Trappinch went, and that's because they missed the first 48 hours and it had already pretty much been decided what would be done. People were literally ignoring Carrie's attempts to communicate with them. I can't blame people for taking that route since I happily voted Trappinch but I don't know if this is necessarily a natural situation.
I would also argue neither are the most screwed over player though
No you're right. Day 1 was sickness which got better. But then the entire tribe was on for the first challenge but there was no mod to be found before Carrie had to go to an unavoidable family dinner, and there were a lot less people able to be around when a mod did show up.

Talking of brief d-1 absences, Patrick was a pretty screwed over 1st boot. just 12 hours missed at game start then the bottom two members of the tribe win immunity then someone changes their vote to him 1 min before dl.

yea that sounds standard
gohan is dif to me because like...i literally lost us two challenges in a row completely on my own because I didn't submit. We won those if I submitted, Gohan participated in both and was active
I feel like thats way worse fucked than "wasn't active, booted"
Lots of players who aren't around at the start of a game go on to do fine, I don't think we can say someone was "screwed over" by their own lack of presence

I was screwed over by tax season

As Carrie it's not like I wasn't around at all I just wasn't around during the challenge and slightly after it which is when it was decided that I would be booted. When I got back there was nothing I could do.

I remember talking to Carrie and thought "Carrie is a good player by the way she talks. Better to boot her now when there's an easy out instead of letting her get further and threaten my game, especially when I love Roisin".
By challenge it was clear that the two most out of the loop were Roisin and Carrie.
Yeah being on that tribe, literally everyone on Team Blue was looking to not be the first boot and Carrie and Roslin just didn't click right away or didn't do the work or something so it went down without them.
Yes my Lord, but questions are dangerous, for they have answers.

Retiring from LSG's and Mish Mash, for the most part. If you want to contact me, I suggest going outside and enjoying what the world has to offer, instead.
You took my first character choice I'll have you know, and then you made him NICE. Patrick was still a decent second choice but STILL, I HAD PLANS.
