they both walked in with a chance to win

kilby was too erratic and contradicted himself nonstop
ceph just like didnt own his game at all

and peg ayyylmao'd all the way to the win
Kilby was nowhere near "worst." It was just, uh, bad.

Ceph argued for other people to win almost as much as he argued for himself to win, though. He crossed the line from humility to "other people played better than me so vote for them" (which tbf mollie also did at Survivormeet)

huh i guess mollie -> ceph, matt -> kilby, ogml -> peg all make a lot of sense

And the vote results were very similar!

Being in an actual FTC isn’t at all like I imagined even after I’ve seen it a bunch from an outside perspective. I do think some people are more natural at it but i def learned a lot from the experience and don’t think I’d fall into the same mistakes next time

Going back a ways, Spyro was real bad if you actually read it. Gothmog was not much better.

You can overcome the belief that your opponent played a better game?

Like if someone comes in with practically zero win equity it's hard to really hate their performance no matter what they say because they have nowhere to go but up.

Seattle may be the exception to this

Yeah "I cheated as a strategy" was not a good approach.

This actually is true. I was super unprepared for my first FTC and what I thought was important wasn't important. So I learned a lot. I've been on one side and know what I'm like, so I, stupidly, decided that was what mattered to everyone.

I was sooooooo wrong. I think I adapted and recovered okay, but if I ever make another FTC, I definitely learned a lot in terms of what jury members care about.

Would it be true in a box? Would it be true with a fox?

Spyro was just a complete garbage fire in general though. But then again at the time, I had literally no idea what I was doing.

I'm curious to know what I did was inherantly bad about my FTC as Gagi, I knew going into the FTC that I was going to lose. I was honest the entire time and did want to kiss anyone's ass.

Spyro's FTC was an apt description of his game - complete trash.

Nah, with deep cuts like that the entire point is for nobody to get it so you can smugly say how clever you were afterwards.

I know that sounds like an attack but it's not; I do that shit all the time.
