Best FTC showdown?

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Fri Apr 13, 2018 8:12 pm

Which FTC had the most epic face off on MS? (also explain why for those people who didn't get to see it plz)

I think for me it was Batwoman vs. Mr. Freeze in Arkham City. Both incredibly strong games, and not the same type of game at all. They both went in swinging and I don't know if I was on that jury how I would have chosen who to vote for. It was amazing.

Haha you're funny but Karass vs Tracer vs Asmodan was a pretty good showdown according to the votes. It's not often all the finalists bring something unique to consider.

I thought T-Bird vs Penner was a great FTC that could have gone either way.

That FTC was close mostly because Tracer completely bombed it but still played so well that she got votes.

That FTC isn't close if Tracer smile and nods

this is probably revisionist history dotcomerino for what it's worth. i think that ftc really was a good showdown though, even if the ftc itself wasn't high quality.

i remember gilly and oberyn martell both being very high quality finalists.

Yeah the outcome was close but that outcome wasn't close because of close FTC performances

freeze v batwoman was amazing. still my only good ftc performance

shaco v lulu v garen was hilarious but idk if that's the "best" metric we're using

hard disagree w/ az v tracer v karass being an epic showdown. it was basically watching players torch their own games lmao

tbird v penner was really good too

neds was a bloodbath but was more funny/fun than "best" in terms of gameplay

maybe conclave?

conclave was a 5-2 blowout iirc, not a good ftc showdown

The votes were that, sure. But the FTC performances themselves were brilliant. I don't know that many people called Zod winning that. Deadpool had been in a fairly good place a lot of the game, he just also pissed off some of the jury. Zod also had probably one of my favourite closing speeches in these games.

the final vote count is really not indicative of whether a FTC was a good showdown or not

I think you could argue that it’s nevessary though. How many interesting TCs end up 8-1 or 9-0 or something?
