steel mill was pretty OP
there are certainly some tribes (gerudo 3.0, brode island, metazoa, purple reign) that more or less pagonged successfully if that makes them good to you or their opponents bad
penumbra managed to put themselves solidly in the passenger seat by merge time and had a pretty uphill battle to even be relevant
original zante did a pretty nice self-destruct as well

Losing both triple tribe challenges where there was only one losing tribe is a pretty terrible performance. It's about the tribe, not the individuals, I thought. But also this:

Only one member made the merge so it was p bad, especially due to tribes being randomized at the start rather than hand-picked for balance
Reading this thread made me realize I have no memory of 90% of tribe names
