Disney's World Domination - Game Over!

Disney is slowly taking over everything. The entertainment industry, the news, your children, your jobs, your lives, and soon, the world. When Mickey Mouse is the president of the United States, you won't be laughing then. So instead of running away from this inevitability, you may as well try and cash in while you still can! If you can't beat 'em, regretfully accept that without them, you are nothing.

Think of this game like
The Apprentice
.
30 players
will compete to be some of the lucky few that get the privilege of working for Disney while everyone else gets laid off from their jobs as Disney acquires the companies they work for. You'll work together and against each other in challenges, voting off those who threaten you while protecting those who you think can help you become one of the
3 winners
at the end. It's a hostile workplace environment if I've ever seen one.

If this sounds like fun to you, sign up here!

{GENERAL RULES}

{01}
This is a game. The main objective is to have fun; so no excessive flaming, spamming, or submission of anything else prohibited within the MS forums.
{02}
This is a game. The secondary objective is to dominate.
{03}
We are not infallible, so if either of us make a mistake, please point it out to us and we will correct it if needed.
{04}
We have worked extensively to produce a game that is enjoyed by all involved. As such, we promise to offer each player respect but expect to be shown the same in return.
{05}
Do not modify avatars. The moderating team has spent a great deal of time brainstorming and creating these images and would much rather concentrate on maintaining a smooth game as opposed to backtracking to make unnecessary revisions.
{06}
You are allowed to quote messages from other players in public or in conversations with others, but you are prohibited from posting screenshots of messages or of official mod communication.
{07}
Exercise common sense. If you are unsure as to whether an action conflicts with the rules, ask. Yes, this is a competition, but do not attempt to undermine challenges or game mechanics for your own gain. This violates both the spirit of the game and common respect mentioned above.
{08}
If you feel that there is an issue the game's moderators can't resolve, we encourage you to contact the list moderator attached to the game, which you can find in the Moderator Contact Info section of Rules & Announcements.
{09}
This game is
ANONYMOUS
. Any communication about this game outside of the game's forum is prohibited, even prior to game start. You cannot reveal your identity to other players or ask about theirs.
{10}
We reserve all rights to implement new rules if needed.

{GAME MECHANICS}

{01}
The core mechanic of this game is Disney Dollars, which are won through team challenges and are used to buy safety and power. When the rules refer to "money", it can be assumed we mean Disney Dollars.
{02}
Communication in this game is limited to a public forum all players have access to, and group chats that are created by the moderators depending on the phase of gameplay.
There will be no one-on-one private messaging.

{03}
Until 8 players remain, each round of the game will take place in 3 phases, detailed below.

{PHASE I}

{04}
Phase I consists of the Cash Grab Challenge, a team challenge which will be the primary way to earn Disney Dollars. A stronger performance in this challenge results in receipt of more money. The winnings of all players will be revealed after the challenge.
{05}
During the first round of the game, teams will be randomized. In all future rounds, players will bid money to be team captains and have the power to pick teams, schoolyard pick style.
{06}
During Phase I, players can only communicate in the public forum or in a group chat with all of their current teammates.
{07}
We have designed all challenges in an attempt to be as considerate and fair to all players' skillsets and backgrounds, but understand that it is impossible to cater to all players equally. We can promise that no personal preference to any player will ever be shown.
{08}
While Phase I is taking place, all players will be presented with an offer to pay a specified amount of money to be placed in a group chat with random players during the upcoming Phase II. It will not be publicly revealed who chose to pay or who is in each group chat.

{PHASE II}

{09}
Phase II consists of the Elimination Challenge, through which one player will be permanently removed from the game.
{10}
Players have the option to either
Pay Up
or
Put Up
.
  1. If a player chooses Pay Up, they will pay a set amount of money (starting at $500 and increasing throughout the game) to sit out of the challenge and guarantee safety.
  2. The players that Put Up will compete in an individual challenge, through which the worst performer will be eliminated from the game.
  3. If only one player chooses Put Up, they will be eliminated automatically.
  4. If more than one player chooses Put Up, the best performer will be announced as safe from elimination during Phase III.
  5. It will not be revealed who chose to compete and who didn't, and only the best/worst performers will be announced.
  6. If every player in the game chooses Pay Up, no one will be eliminated, and instead two consecutive elimination votes take place during Phase III.
  7. Failure to submit results in automatic last place; if multiple people fail to submit, the player with the least remaining money is eliminated, and all others receive a non-submission strike.
{11}
During this phase, players may only communicate using the public forum or in a group chat paid for at the end of Phase I. All chats that existed for Phase I are closed. Your ability to communicate is unaffected by your decision to Pay Up or Put Up, as that decision won't be made public. You can talk with people about the decision or keep to yourself.
{12}
Prior to Phase III, players have the opportunity to bid money on the power to choose players to form a group chat with.
  1. A list of available group sizes will be given, and in order to bid, players will rank the available group numbers by preference, as well as ranking all players in the game by preference to pick them.
  2. The player who bids the most money will receive their top preference for group number, and the group will consist of players taken from the top of their player list until the group is full.
  3. We'll then go to the undrafted player with the next highest bid, and they will get their highest ranked preferences of those remaining.
  4. This continues until every player is in exactly one group chat for Phase III.
  5. Only the players whose bids were taken into account will have to pay the money they bid, but it won't be revealed who paid money, how much they bid, or who is in each group.

{PHASE III}

{13}
Phase III consists of the Layoff Vote. All players cast one vote privately for who they wish to be eliminated. The player who receives the most votes will be eliminated. The number of votes each player received will be revealed, but not who voted for whom.
{14}
During this phase, communication is restricted to the public forum and to the group chats bid on during Phase II. All prior group chats are closed.
{15}
Prior to Phase III, players will have the opportunity to pay incremental amounts of money to nullify a number of votes cast for them. The price starts at $100 for each vote nullified, but will increase throughout the game. At the start of Phase III, it is publicly announced who chose to nullify votes and how many votes against them will be nullified.
  1. If there are two rounds of voting due to everyone choosing Pay Up in Phase II, players will need to pay again to nullify votes during the second round.
{16}
Failure to cast a vote will result in casting a vote for yourself. If this happens 3 times, you will be immediately eliminated. You are allowed to vote for yourself intentionally if you wish, and if so it will not count toward your 3 strikes.
{17}
In the event of a tie for most votes, all highest vote-getters will be asked to privately state how much they're willing to pay to avoid going home. Whoever gives the lowest number will be eliminated, and the surviving players will lose money equal to $1 plus whatever the eliminated player bet.

{FINAL ROUND}

{18}
Once only 8 players remain, the format of the game will change. The remaining players will now compete to earn a spot in the final challenge, which only has room for 6 people.
{19}
The first 2 spots in the final challenge go to the 2 remaining players with the most money banked.
{20}
The remaining 6 players will then compete in an individual challenge, through which the 2 top performers will move onto the final challenge.
{21}
The remaining 4 players will then face a jury composed of the 7 most recently eliminated players. The 4 players will plead their cases, after which the jury members will each vote for 2 players they wish to see move on. The players who receive the most votes will take the final 2 spots in the final challenge. Ties are given to whoever has the most money banked, followed by performance in the previous challenge.
{22}
The final challenge will be a game fought by 2 teams of 3. The remaining 6 players will discuss openly how the teams will be divided, but if a division cannot be agreed upon by at least a majority of the remaining players, the 2 players who came into the final round with the most money banked will become team captains and a snake draft will occur to decide the teams. The winning team of 3 in the final challenge will be the champions of
Disney: World Domination
.
