11.4% (A Hilariously Low Average That I Want To Fix)

For large social games such as Survivor where the primary mechanic is social interaction.

11.4% (A Hilariously Low Average That I Want To Fix)

Placement of every MS LSG I’ve played in, including non-anons and speeds*:

Allocate/Execute 4: 21st/24 (13%)
Nonary Game: Ambidex Panic: Failed to achieve 9 BP (0%)
Disney’s World Domination: 23rd/30th (24.1%)
Survivor: TRTWIUAA: 31st/31 (0%)
Big Brother Blitz: 9th/11 (20%)
*4/20vivor not counted because I can’t find placement data for it

Average:
11.4%

Okay, clearly I am doing something wrong in the early game, because I sure as heck don’t feel like I put 11.4% in effort. Any ideas on how to not die early?

Biggest piece of advice I can give is to make yourself important to the people around you, somehow. Make them care about you and want you to stick around, not just for a round or two, but long-term.

Try playing a game where you just go all out socially aggressive, talking to people as much as you can (reply back with similar content level, always have a hook, ask them questions, at least appear to be interested in them). Within the first 1 to 2 days, ask your three favourite people if they'd like to work with you. They will say yes and then you will survive the early game.

Yeah going super hard on being social, even if it isn't likely to win you the game, can be a really useful way of learning how to play. It's likely to get you to merge, where you'll learn a whole lot about the game very quickly

Have you tried ignoring everyone to find an idol on day 1? If you play it immediately you're guarenteed to survive the early game and most early tribes go to 1-2 tribals at most..
(this is more true the more Advanced the rating of the game is and the more swap happy the mods are re: CC) (maybe dont actually do this although if you actually play the idol immediately it might work..)

In BB Blitz I had declared a final two with you right out of the gate. I would have wanted to go to final two with you over anyone else. The reason why I ended up turning against you is because when ever you spoke to me you would give a 1-3 word response. I felt that you were not genuinely wanting to work with me and I became closer with literally everyone else.

Having hooks is way too hard for people with low charisma, which is probably want is happening here.
I assume I could help somehow when I believe I lack that same skillset, but I seriously have no idea how I managed to survive the anonymous ones and have a much better percentage. Not coming dead last in anything might help.

Just "gussy up" in front of a mirror, that's how I teach Sims that skill.

In place of charisma you could opt to present yourself as really honest/transparent with a group of people, in the hopes that they value that and decide you're worth investing in.

All I could come up with was "sounds good, thanks" and I didn't really think that warranted posting.

Do you ever have opinions on the current situation?

If someone comes to you and talks strategy then that means they want input. They don't want you to just confirm what they already said.

Charisma online isn't as difficult as it seems. All it takes is for you to show interest to get a conversation really flowing.

Instead of, "sounds good, thanks"
Try, "Interesting! I'm willing to help." or perhaps offering your own opinion with, "I like it but so-n-so might get upset by that."

If you don't have opinions on the game state and are just trying to coast by, then that isn't really playing a social game. The only way you can make it far with that attitude is by winning challenges or getting carried (essentially just luck)
Looking for love in Alderaan places.
