Endurance: Final Results! (Post 1752)

The first season of Endurance: Mish Mash will take place in the exotic location of Fiji! Since we're spending 95% of our budget flying you out here, don't expect too much graphic design on future challenges.

Depending on the number of sign-ups, you may or may not be split into pairs, and there may or may not be a Right to Stay Mission.

How Endurance works is like this:

Sometimes, there will be a Endurance Mission. The winner will receive the right to grant someone else a

Samadhi

, which is generally a disadvantage in the Temple Mission. In addition, they will win a

Puzzle Piece

.

Each round, there will be a Temple Mission. The winner will select two other teams to be sent to the

Temple of Fate

.

At the Temple of Fate, one team will be sent home and must give up their Puzzle Pieces.

At the final Temple of Fate, the more Puzzle Pieces you have, the larger chance you have of winning.

Right to Stay / Partner Picking Mission

Hello castaways. It is clear that some of you do not have

true

Endurance and are just here to be in the exotic location of Fiji and on-camera. Thus, we must have a Right to Stay challenge to prove that you have true Endurance.

In addition, your partner will be extremely important on Endurance. You will want a partner that you can easily coordinate and work together with, as well as one that can hold his/her own.

For the first time in Endurance history, we will be doing a COMBINATION Right to Stay and Partner Picking challenge. First, the

five people

who perform the worst in this challenge will be immediately eliminated as they do not have True Endurance. Next, the better you do in this challenge, the more choice you will have as to who your partner is. Since all subsequent missions will be done with a partner, this choice is huge and may ultimately determine how well you do on endurance.

This challenge is simple. There are 20 wooden barrels suspended from a chain. You will simply have to grab onto one and hang on as long as possible. After everyone is on, they will be moved over the water so you do not get hurt. The first five people to drop will be eliminated, while the longer you hold on, the more say you will have as to who your partner is.

To begin the challenge, simply post:

After EXACTLY

minutes, please post:

[ Username ] continues holding on to the barrel.

Post this again four more times waiting 11 minutes in between. If you are too early, you may post again. If you are too late however, you will drop and be eliminated from the challenge.

After posting the above message FIVE times, we will start swinging the barrels back and forth, making it harder to hold on. EXACTLY

minutes after your fifth post of the above, you must post:

After posting the above message FIVE times, the rain will start pouring. At that point, EXACTLY

You must continue posting the above every 4 minutes for the rest of this challenge.

If you edit in this challenge, I will use the time of the edit in counting your post. You have 48 hours to begin holding on to the barrel. As long as you start within the 48 hours, you may continue as long as you like even outside the 48 hour period.

In event of a tie, we will resort to the following tiebreaker, which must be submitted within 48 hours:

How many different combinations of three distinct positive integers (i.e. 1, 2, 3, ... etc.) multiply to 2310?

This challenge will first test your knowledge of world geography. You will be inputting capitals of countries around the world into the following link:

Please replace "xxx" with the name of a capital. Please input the letters as

all lowercase

with

no spaces

. Substitute regular characters in place of special/accented ones.

These will reveal pieces of a puzzle. The solution to this puzzle will be a 3 digit number.

Once you have the 3 digit number, you and your partner must move rocks painted with the corresponding numbers to signify your answer.

To move rocks, you and your partner must both post:

[ Name ] runs out to the rocks.

*wait at least 5 minutes* （Times do not have to be exact as long as you have waited enough)

[ Name ] begins pushing the rock numbered [ # ] back.

[ Partner ] helps [ Name ].

*wait at least 5 minutes from when Partner begins helping*

[ Partner ] places the rock in the [ 1st/2nd/3rd ] space.

As soon as the Partner places the rock, you two may run out again. As you see, it will only take 10 minutes.

However, you may also attempt it solo. To do this will be harder. Post:

Your next Temple Mission will be to combat Slorgs trying to eat your food supply! The only thing that can stop them is the Slorg-B-Gone solution of your state-of-the-art X-1000 Slorgeriser craft. To turn back the Slorgs' threat to your food, blast them in matching clusters of three or more. Be quick about it, though -- those Slorgs will stop at nothing till they've eaten every last morsel!

It must be of the entire screen and cannot be edited. It must include either a tab that says mafiascum or an AIM window proving that it is you.

If both partners submit in time, I will take the highest score only. Submissions not in time will not be counted.

For this challenge, I have a giant wheel before me equally divided into 100 portions.

However, your positions are not secure! You each have buckets upon buckets of paint in your team color and you may PAINT OVER other team's portions!

After doing this, please wait 15 minutes before painting again.

If do it as a team, simply BOTH post:

You have one more option, you may dump an entire bucket of paint over another team's portions. To do this, the first team member must post:

Welcome Endurance contestants! Before you are five Go Karts, one for each team. Today, you will be embarking on a race with five legs. However, you only have a limited amount of fuel. Each of you can travel 1000 meters in your Go Karts except for the

Brown Team

. Brown Team, because of the Samadhi, your fuel tank is only 77.7% full and thus you may only travel 777 meters.

Four of the five legs will be Elimination Legs. If you travel the least distance on an Elimination Leg, you will be eliminated.

The detour, Break It or Buy It has teams choosing between breaking 1,000 pieces of pottery to find one containing a small scrip of paper with their next clue while Buy It involves bartering with locals until they get $100 Fiji Dollars in donations. The Red and Purple Teams head off to break it, while the Green and Blue Teams Buy It. Buy It turns out to be much quicker, as locals are not used to seeing Americans, and give their cash away. Purple Team gets slightly luckier than Red Team and all the teams set off again at 2pm.

Dear Endurance Players remaining,

I thoroughly wish you all luck in destroying the Blue Team. Not only are they overly dominant, they're apparently backstabbing little so-and-so's too. They were supposed to be in an alliance with us by extension of the Red Team, but gave us the Samadhi. They were supposed to not send us up for elimination, but sent us anyway. I hope any one of you crush them with swift, brute force.

For this challenge, you and your partner must be ENTIRELY in sync. Within the next 24 hours, you must both post

on the same minute.
10 minutes later, you must both post:

The [ Color ] Team balances for [10/29/57] minutes.

You can choose however long you balance for, but you must both make the same decision. After 10, 29, or 57 minutes, you must both keep balancing on the same minute again.
The team that does this the longest will win.

As long as you start within the next 24 hours, you may keep going after the deadline. If at any time after beginning, you do not sync, you are out of this challenge. However, if you mess up hopping on the balance board, you may try again.

There is to be NO EDITING whatsoever in this challenge. If you make a minor formatting mistake, that is fine, leave it. If I see any edited posts, you will automatically be DQed.

Cybele did not submit answers and is out of the competition.

This competition will work like this. Each round, I will reveal all the answers given to a particular question and who they were given by. You must then each independently decide whether to STAY or to FOLD. If you FOLD, your answer will be discounted for the round as if it were never submitted.

Among the people who STAYed, the person who is closest will receive a point. The person who is furthest away however, will be eliminated from the competition. If only one person STAYs, that person will receive a point only. If there is a tie, all people closest will receive a point and all people furthest away will be eliminated.

The first team to 3 points or the last team standing will win.

All STAY/FOLD decisions must be PMed and done independently. The exception is Purple Team, who may communicate with each other since they only have one set of answers.

Hi guys. We tied three consecutive rounds in the Temple of Fate, but after all that, our inevitable doom has finally occurred.

Yabbaguy wasn't able to get in contact with saberwolf for this letter, but wants to apologize for basically being a sore loser, which is inherent in his nature, to all of you guys, and for getting overly emotionally invested in the game. He still believes that pickemgenius and dahill1 don't know how to handle a compliment, and believes that their distasteful reaction ultimately cost them the game, but obviously, nothing was going our way anyway.

Merely because they haven't oppressed us, we give the

Hello Endurance Teams! Welcome to your final Temple Mission.

This Temple Mission will work like a REVERSE ENDURANCE.

Red and Brown team, you each have 20 points. Blue Team, as a result of the Samadhi, you only have 15 points.

Each hour, defined as X:00 to X:59, one of the team members on each team must post. The post can be made by either team member and can contain anything, but there must be a post.

For each hour that neither team member posts, your team will lose a point. The last team with a point remaining will win.

This competition will go as long as need be, but will not start until MIDNIGHT EDT. (4 hours 15 min from now)

The winner will guarantee themselves a spot in the Final 2 while the other two teams must go to the Temple of Fate.

Congratulations on finally attaining your 2nd Temple Piece Brown Team! However, as Blue Team stands at 6, you guys have some serious ground to make up!

Good thing FOUR Temple Pieces: Leadership, Luck, Perseverance, and Knowledge are up in this Endurance Mission! I promised you no more posting challenges, and there won't be any more.

However, this challenge has four components, each one which has a reward.

Part 1:

Perseverance

I have created a poll that will be PMed to you shortly. You may choose to share it or keep it a secret as you wish. Any person can vote as many times as they would like. It will be open until 1AM EDT Wednesday October 6th. This gives you a little over 72 hours to vote. The team with the most votes will have enough Perseverance for the Piece!

Part 2:

Leadership

I will be sending out in approximately 12 hours a PM to all past contestants, including those eliminated in Right to Stay an opportunity to serve as a mini-jury. The winner of the jury vote will have demonstrated sufficient Leadership for the Piece! They will have 72 hours from when I PM them to vote. You may want to prepare an opening statement of sorts in these 12 hours, or you can choose not to. They may ask questions, and it is up to you whether to answer them or not. Each player only has 1 vote UNLESS two people on a team both vote and vote the same way, in which case the team's vote counts as 3 rather than 2 votes.

Part 3:

Knowledge

Try to be on IM within these next 3-4 days. I will contact you with a challenge. This challenge should take no more than an hour. The team with the shortest combined time will have the Knowledge to win the Piece!
