Your wit has no bounds... unlike a definite integral.
Anyhoo, did you check with mith already since it sounds like it could be a mafia variant? If so, /in.

That's a good thing for the killer. 1 is the least suspicious. 13 would be your most suspicious. Anyway, getting the killer in that is only a good thing if we can recognize him before the final 3.mallowgeno wrote:So when you're nominating players, if you put the killer as a 1 that's a good thing?
Because the plot twist is going to be that we're all the same. Integration hasn't happened in the town yet.Lady Lambdadelta wrote:Also, why are we searching in a town f'(x)?
... Wow. Scummy. You do realize that it's the same (greater chance of hitting scum with less players) in Mafia, right? That doesn't mean we advocate the deaths of our fellow players.SharkFinn wrote:13 players = 12 innocent + 1 victim.
Assuming players are eliminated one at a tim, the chances of eliminating the mole, C, can be defined as 1/P, where P is the number of players remaining.
The change in players each elimination, dP/dE will be -1 as only 1 player is eliminated at a time.
The change in chances each elimination, dC/dE, is equal to (-1/P^2)dP/dE. Substituting the value of dP/dE, dC/dE is equal to 1/P^2
Since dP/dE is negative, then the number of players each week is decreasing, meaning that as P->0, 1/P^2 increases.
This all means that we can improve our chances of finding the mole by eliminating players.
WOW DID I JUST SERIOUSLY WASTE 5 MINUTES ON THAT???
lol... now I have to find some random way to bring Taylor series in here.SharkFinn wrote:Lol. Yep. But it's fact.
Same with normal games. Except the odds change pending on the number of mafia. I'd rather not do more work considering 2 moles, but I feel as though I should keep up the math jokes.
lolololololol and now his time really was a waste.Blackberry wrote: Shark - Also, you realize you can't eliminate the mole/killer, right?
He means you can't eliminate him until Final 3, which means your earlier calculations are off (since they assume that the killer could be picked at any time, as in Mafia).SharkFinn wrote: Yes I can eliminate the mole. Why do you say I cannot.

lol after the first clue I was actually going to guess 1337 for leet. XDSharkFinn wrote:Damn. My fav possible code of 7331 (reverse leet) fails to pass. ;-;

1. Of course not, old buddy.Blackberry wrote:Kage - would you have killed me? My guess is yes =(.
Kage - I think I actually told you who I suspected or didn't suspect at one point to see if they would get killed by the killer or something.
