Rules

1. To become a castaway, simply fill out the application below and PM it to me, with a title like “Survivor Application.”

2. While this game may have some twists, it will have two consistencies: Immunity Challenges and Tribal Councils.

3. Immunity Challenges are competitions that you will participate in. If you or your tribe wins, you may not be voted out at the next Tribal Council. These challenges may involve critical thinking, skill, strategy, and teamwork. Only a few challenges will be somewhat live. If you do not participate, you will receive no penalty from me, but you may receive the scorn of your allies. You’ve been warned.

4. Tribal Councils are where tribes go to eliminate one or more of their members. You must PM me with a vote with the name of a castaway you would like to see eliminated. Changing your vote is prohibited. If you fail to do this, you will receive one strike. If you receive three strikes, you will be removed from the game. You’ve been warned.

5. Deadlines will usually be 48 hours, unless otherwise stated.

6. At the end of the game, a jury composed of the most recently eliminated castaways will vote for whichever finalist they want to win. The winner of Survivor: Botswana will receive absolutely no tangible prizes.

7. Members of different tribes may not speak to one another. (Effective 3/24/2011)

Challenge 1

Give and Take

Welcome to your first challenge! To begin with, the twenty of you have been divided into pairs based on your applications. The pairs are as follows:

For this challenge, you will PM me either “Give” or Take.” Your partner will do the same. Once all results have been received, things will play out as follows:

If you chose “Give,” and your partner chose “Give,” you and your partner will have to play another round.
If you chose “Give,” and your partner chose “Take,” your partner will receive Immunity, and you will not.
If you chose “Take,” and your partner chose “Give,” you will receive Immunity, and your partner will not.
If you chose “Take,” and your partner chose “Take,” you and your partner will not receive Immunity.

Play will continue until all pairs have resolved, a.k.a. not chosen Give-Give.

If one partner does not submit, the other player automatically receives Immunity. If both partners do not submit, neither player receives Immunity.

You have 48 hours to PM me your choice for Round 1!

To answer all questions:

- You can say whatever you want about your action in-thread.
- You can talk to your partner privately if you like.
- Round 2 will be the same as Round 1, and Round 3 after that. Just like yesterday was Friday (Friday), and today it is Saturday (Saturday), but we we we are still so excited because it's another day.
- Basically, it's your Immunity to lose.

Challenge 2

Letter Shelter

Welcome, tribes, to your second challenge. It is now time for you to construct your shelters; however, you must do it out of letter pieces. To do this, go to this website:

http://typeisart.com

and move, enlarge, and rotate the letter strokes around to make a picture. You are trying to make something resembling a shelter; make it as good as possible. Once you've made a picture that you feel is satisfying, take a screenshot and PM it to me. (I think you can somehow "share" the picture too, if you figure this out, that works too). There is only one submission per tribe, and I will only accept the first submission. Once I have received both submissions, I will judge them (OMG BIAS but I barely even know the tribes myself.

) and whichever one I believe is better will win Immunity.

However, there are more important things to discuss.

There have been certain goings-on in the QuickTopics that suggest communications between members of different tribes.

First of all, the only way a tribe member would have received the link to the other tribe's quicktopic is via intertribe communication. This is strictly prohibited.
Second, communicating with the other tribe anywhere else that is not here is strictly prohibited.

I suggest these goings-on stop or punishments may be awarded.

Word.

Today I present you with a word search.

Hidden in this wordsearch are the 18 words each of you chose as your favorite word. However, you must only find the nine that correspond to your tribe. Work together to know which nine are the right ones. Once you think your nine words are right, post the wordsearch, with circled words, in the thread. Each tribe only has three tries to get the words correct though.

The first Tribe to circle the nine correct words wins Immunity. If neither tribe has got it completely correct after each has tried thrice or after 48 hours, the tribe which had an entry with more correct words will win Immunity. After that, we will do a Tiebreaker Wordsearch to indicate the winner.

Welcome to your fifth challenge, and the first one after that shuffle. To win this challenge, you will have to give up many different things. You may give up any, all, or none of the things listed below:

Tribal Council Voting Ability (TCVA)

You will give up the ability to vote in the next however many Tribal Councils you choose.

1 point for each one given up

LIMIT: 16

Post-Merge Challenge Competing Ability (PMCCA)

You will give up the ability to compete in the first however many Challenges after the merge you choose.

2 points for each one given up

LIMIT: 12

Jury Votes (JV)

Should you make it to the Final Tribal Council, you will start at negative however many votes you choose.

4 points for each one given up

LIMIT: 15

Each tribemate has the ability to give up these things. If you wish to give up something, you will PM me with what you want to give up and how many (for example, I give up 3 TCVAs, 2 PMCCAs, and 7 JVs). If you don't want to give anything up, you don't need to PM me, even when I prod you.

After 48 hours, I will total up all given up things by the point totals beneath them. Whichever tribe scores more points will win Immunity! You have 48 hours so go, go, go!

Bad news guys. You will all be attending the next Tribal Council. Well, at least fourteen of you will.

The good news is, you'll all be playing a fantastic game of No Dice, where you combine strategy and luck to win valuable prizes!

Each tribe has their own separate set of Lots to bid on. However, instead of bidding money or coins or legal tender, you'll be bidding six-sided dice. You have 10 dice to split among the 5 lots. Send your bids to me via PM. After 48 hours, I will tabulate the bids and roll the dice. The bidder with the highest total roll will win the lot. Ties are resolved by whoever bid less dice, then by re-roll.

The five lots that each tribe has are:

Lot 1 - Escape from Tribal Council: congratulations! You don't have to go to Tribal Council, and therefore cannot be voted out! However, you also don't get to vote at the aforementioned Tribal Council.
Lot 2 - Individual Immunity: Congratulations! You may not be voted out at Tribal Council.

However, there is yet another twist. Starting at 4:30 and again at every hour, I will add a new set of rules by which you must modify your lyrics. Post Volleyball

Six versus six…what perfect numbers for this next challenge! The two tribes will be playing a game of volleyball.

The tribe which will serve first will be indicated by whichever castaway posts first after this announcement. Then, anytime after 8:30pm U.S. CST. A member of that tribe may post:

[USERNAME] serves the ball.

The opposing tribe then has one hour to post the following:

[USERNAME] passes the ball.

At this point, that same tribe has another hour to either set or spike the ball. To set the ball, another castaway who did not pass the ball must post within one hour since the ball was passed:

[USERNAME] sets the ball.

After passing, or passing and setting, the ball may be spiked within the hour since the last move, by a player who did not make the last move. To spike the ball, post:

[USERNAME] spikes the ball!

The opposing tribe has half an hour to block the ball, if the wish: The ball is blocked by posting:

[USERNAME] blocks the ball!

If this is successful, the tribe must pass, set, and spike again. If there is no block, the opposing tribe has half an hour (or an hour since the spike) to pass the ball to begin the cycle again.

If at anytime the ball is dropped by not making it within a time limit, the opposing tribe gets a point. The first tribe to three points wins Immunity. If neither tribe reaches 3 points in 48 hours, both tribes go to Tribal Council.

Both tribes may declare it a draw if all remaining castaways consent to it. Both tribes will be sent to Tribal Council should a draw happen.

A tribe may forfeit if all castaways competing in a challenge consent to it. That tribe will go to Tribal Council should they forfeit.

Today, we will have a runway show! Each competing member from each tribe must contribute a garment to the show, fitting a specific theme. Each piece of clothing must fit a few overall themes:

My perception of couture is the eye-catching, almost-absurd finale of a runway show. It is the piece meant to draw customers, not for everyday wear.

This challenge is pretty straightforward. Each tribe has selected their representative, and now it is time to determine the winner. Shortly, I will PM each representative a garish picture. While it contains many red (and white, and gray, and purple, and navy blue) herrings, it has a few essential pixels which share the same black, brown, green, and yellow found in your tribal flags. The representative must closely examine the picture, then apply the information to the formula below:

a equals the number of black pixels found in Quadrant II,
b equals the number of green pixels found in Quadrant IV,
c equals the number of brown pixels found in Quadrant III, and

The eight remaining castaways need to form 4 pairs of 2. These may be cross-tribe or not, but it must be consensual. Post in thread who you want to pair with, and the other must agree. If you are trying to pair with someone on the other tribe, you still may not PM them.

It should be noted that one pair will win Individual Immunity, so couple up quick! Any castaways not paired up in 48 hours will be randomly paired.

Immunity Challenge #13

Stop the Wildebeest!

Each pair will have one hand of three cards. Turns will go in alphabetical order (animorpherv1-JDGA, chesskid3-xRECKONERx, gandalf5166-TheBadOne, Lady Lambdadelta-Tragedy.) Once it is your turn, you have 48 hours to draw a card or take the card from the stockpile. You can then switch the drawn card with a card in your hand and put that one in the stockpile, or simply put the drawn card back into the stockpile. Your goal is to get to a total of 31 within the same suit. Face cards are 10, while aces are 11, and all other cards are face value. So an ace, 9, and 8 of hearts would be pretty good, but an ace of clubs and a 10 and king of spades is only 20, not 31. When it is your turn and you feel you are close enough to 31 to not be eliminated, shout in the thread:

STOP THE WILDEBEEST!!!

This effectively uses up your turn, and gives all other hands a chance to draw from the deck/stockpile once more. Afterwards, all hands will be revealed. However, to quicken up the pace of this, the lowest hand (or hands) will be eliminated IMMEDIATELY. This is high-stakes 31, guys.

If your teammate is on an opposing tribe, you can collaborate with them privately during this challenge.

Sometime in the next 48 hours from this post, you must create a post that says

[CASTAWAY] hangs on.

You must do this once each hour for as many subsequent hours as possible, even going beyond the 48 hour limit if you wish. The 48 hour limit is only for your first-post. Use this to your advantage.

The castaway which hangs on for the longest amount of time will win Immunity.

No its like If you post at 1:00 that counts for 1:00-2:00. You must then continue for 2:00-3:00, 3:00-4:00 and so on. The timeframe continues.
