Welcome to the first team mission of the game. Today, you'll be splitting up into specialty groups to show off what you're best at. We can't begin our space voyage yet, as there are some minor repairs that need to be done on each of your ships.
Each team will split up into 3 groups. Group 1 will contain 4 players, and are known as the Spotters. The Spotters on each team will split up into two pairs, and each pair is given a different image of the ship's construction schematics. However, these images have 12 small differences between them, and you'll need to find as many of them as possible by describing the images via text. You are
Group 2 will contain 6 players, known as the Fixers. Several important parts of the ship have been shattered, and the Fixers need to put them back together as jigsaw puzzles. Every Fixer on your team will pick a different jigsaw puzzle, numbered #1-#6 based on difficulty, with #1 being the hardest and #6 being the easiest. Attempts at each puzzle are unlimited, but everyone is required to submit a screenshot of their best time by the deadline. The team who achieves the fastest time in each puzzle will receive 10 additional points in part 3 of the mission.
You have
Group 3 are the Coders, consisting of 3 players on each team. Part 3 of the challenge will be live around 7pm EST Sunday evening, and all Coders will participate. When everyone is ready, a 12x12 grid of letters will be posted. Coders must find words by traveling between adjacent cells horizontally, vertically, and diagonally, and claim a word by posting the coordinate of the first letter followed by the complete word. A single letter block can't be used more than once within the same word. Once a player has claimed a word, the first letter of the word will be removed from the grid, and a blank space will be left, which can no longer be used to form words and can't be skipped over. Each word must be at least 4 letters long. There will be blocks containing "Qu", but for the purposes of scoring and length requirements, a "Qu" only counts as one letter. The challenge ends when no more words can be formed. A new post must be made for every new word, but there are no time restrictions for posting words. If you post a word that isn't recognized by dictionary.com as a common English word, or you post a word that can't be formed with the given grid, your team will lose 5 points. A team scores a point for every letter in each valid word posted.
The team with the most points at the end wins, with ties broken by which team had a greater head start. The grid will be presented and updated using a Google spreadsheet. This will be a fast-moving game, with letters constantly being removed from the grid, so you need to be extremely careful to avoid receiving the 5-point penalty. The losing team will enter the Void, and a vote will be held as for which 3 members of the losing team will enter the Black Hole. 1 person from the 3 entering the Black Hole will be eliminated from the game, while 1 player out of the remaining 10 will also be eliminated.
