Reality Show X is a competition to determine who truly is the ultimate reality show contestant; you will face numerous trials and tribulations on your way to your 15 minutes of fame. Several will try. Only one can win.

The application phase will last one week. No valid applications will be turned down - we will narrow the field down to 20 with our first challenge. The first challenge will be given along with the application in the next post.

Week One - Endurance

Right to Stay

The right to stay competition is very simple. There are several ropes, each of which is suspended over water. You must hang on for as long as you can. The last 20 contestants still in the game after this will move on to week two.

ACTUAL CHALLENGE:

You each have 1,000 effort points to expend on this challenge. This challenge will be three rounds. The players who spend the least effort on each round will be eliminated. The player with the most effort remaining at the end of this challenge will earn the right to pick first when we begin picking teams, as well as an advantage in week two.

With interest waning, and the few applications I have been getting in coming from personal invites, applications are now

closed

. I am removing the Amazing Race round (it wasn't that good anyways) in favour of another, undisclosed round to come later. The game will begin sometime between now and midnight EST tonight.

The eighteen contestants were set loose upon their ropes, dangling precariously above the open ocean. At stake? The right to be the first to pick at the team picking ceremony later that evening. They were to hold on as long as they can.

Just seven minutes in, our first contestant fell off of his rope. It was singing "sensation" Sanjaya, granting him 18th in the challenge. Next to drop was Danielle roughly 10 minutes in; 5 minutes later, Jade fell from her rope. Dorothy fell another 5 minutes after. Another 5 minutes pass. Steven and Yau-man fall from their ropes. 12 contestants remained hanging.

Another agonizing wait. Richard falls. Then Terri. Then Sada. They're dropping like flies, only more dramatically and with a larger splash. Sierra can't hold on any longer. Right as she hits the water, Sebastiaan falls in to join her. Mere seconds later, Rupert joins the group in the briny sea.

Just 6 people remain on the ropes. Midget Mac falls next. It's a while before our next contestant, Brendan, claims 5th. Jonathan falls mere moments before Kathy. It's down to just Adrianne and April...

Someone splashes down into the water. Adrianne curses as she stumbles out of the ocean. April soon joins her, having won. They are all instructed to walk up to a luxurious house by the beach...

Hello, I am Jon Kelley, and I will be your host. You are here to compete for large sums of money and perhaps a few life lessons. Over the next couple of months, you will be competing in both physical and mental challenges based on various reality shows in the hopes of earning the grand prize.

The Bed Battle

In this challenge, players from each team will face each other in a battle on a bed suspended over water. You will each be armed with those padded stick things. Your choices for each round are to attack fiercely, attack normally or evade. Attacking fiercely beats attacking normally. Attacking normally beats evading. Evading beats attacking fiercely. The team that wins the most matches wins the challenge. The losing team will head to the vault, where they will select three people to nominate for elimination.
