One by one, the pairs faced off. Here is how the first round of the competition played out.
Richard v. Simon
Both Richard and Simon provocatively pelvic thrust to the center of the dance floor. Richard, however, was forty-two seconds [submitted forty-two minutes late] behind on the beat, and Simon managed to thrust him out of the competition. Simon advances to the next round.
Annie v. Tina
Tina strikes a fierce Lady Gaga pose, while Annie simply stands there dumbfounded. Tina advances to the next round by default.
Florence v. Kenny
Florence leaps in surprise as the music begins to play. Kenny contorts his body into his favorite pose from "Bad Romance." Florence, not knowing what to do, follows suit and imitates the pose best as she can, but stumbles off dance floor. [Florence submitted late] Kenny advances to the next round.
Liz v. Weird Al
Liz wastes no time lowering herself to the ground as if she were a dancer for "Paparazzi". Weird Al gawks at her revealing pose, but cannot muster the courage to do anything. Liz advances to the next round by default.
Simon, Tina, Kenny, and Liz, you have all advanced to the semifinals of this competition. Again, you will face off based on alphabetical order. You will have twenty-four hours to submit [Sunday January 31 at 1:00PM GMT-5]
