The Amazing Race: MafiaScum Edition

Welcome to The Amazing Race! You are about to embark upon a journey across the World (Wide Web) in a race for one million
(theoretical)
dollars!

How the Race Works:

1. At the beginning of each Leg, you will be given a clue that tells you precisely what you have to do to find your next clue. Usually, this will be something along the lines of locating the answer to a question. This answer will in some manner lead you to your next clue, most likely by inserting it into a web address to display the next clue.
2. Each clue will provide very clear instructions about what to do. There should be no confusion.
3. On Legs, you will encounter a variety of clues, including Roadblocks, Fast Forwards, and Detours.
a. Roadblocks, as described on The Amazing Race on CBS, are a task that only one person may perform. As there are no teams here, it’s just a slightly more difficult task.
b. Detours are a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons. The same applies here.
c. Fast Forwards are a task that allows you to skip all other tasks and go straight to the Finish Line. These are by far the hardest tasks you will encounter.
4. At the end of the leg, you will be instructed to travel to the Pit Stop. The Pit Stop will be either a chatroom where you must tell me the entry code to check in, or an editable page where you post to check in. The last team to check into a Pit Stop is in danger of elimination.
5. At the beginning of the next leg, players will be separated by an amount of time proportional to the time between they checked in and the team in front of them checked in. Teams who win legs may also be provided with advantages.

Game-Specific Rules:

1. After each leg, players must submit a schedule of when they will not be available for the next week or two. This is to allow the Host to determine when the best time to start the next leg is, as this takes place in realtime.
2. Players may collude, but absolutely MAY NOT share the code words used to check in or collect clues, upon pain of elimination.
3. All players must have an AIM username. Players will congregate in an AIM GroupChat prior to the start of each leg, and may check into the Pit Stop in a similar manner.
4. Players are expected to inform the Host of any V/LA that occurs. If it is extensive, you may be asked to remove yourself from the Race.
5. Be sure to keep a record of all code words used to collect clues, as the Host may ask you for these when you check in. It is also possible that other information may need to be collected to turn in at the Pit Stop (i.e. screenshots).

Flight Rules
  • To catch a flight, travel to the QuickTopic provided when a flight is necessary. Listed there will be all flights to your destination city.
  • To book your flight, post
    Book: Flight ###.
If you are successful, you will be notified as soon as possible; otherwise, you will have to try again.

CluesWhen you receive the passcode for a clue, insert it into this link:

Code: Select all

http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h417/Xalxe/AmazingRace1/[PASSCODE].jpg

Passcodes will not contain capital letters or spaces. If a passcode does not work on the first try, check your spelling, then try adding common words (i.e. If I tell you to write the House where the President lives, and "white" does not work, try "whitehouse." Whenever I GIVE you passcodes, however, be sure to type them EXACTLY as given.

I am presuming that the lengthy conversation we've been having means TheBadOne has confirmed pre-in.

To fly to different cities.

i.e. if the clue says "Travel to Fort Worth, TX via Pittsburgh International Airport (http://www.quicktopic.com/45/H/FHs4zFHdfvF)," you would go to that QT and post
Book: Flight 1
to get on the flight.

Seriously. Read your role PM before playing.
I am sorry if you have to prod me, I have absolutely no concept of time.

My prefered pronoun set is "cie/cir/cirs[elf]" but they is more than acceptable.

Given you said the legs will be in real time, how long of a timeslot will we be expected to set aside for an average leg?

No, but that reminds me:

AT ALL PLAYERS: When you submit schedules, be sure to say which timezone it's on so I don't think you're available when you're not.
