- Each political party starts the game with $100m.
- The game takes place during a series of rounds, or 'elections'.
- At the beginning of an election, all parties must pay $20m into the pot.
- Any party that is unable to do so is eliminated from the game (as a 'Bankrupted Party'). Their remaining money is still added to the pot.
- Each party learns how many seats in parliament the have won.
- A coalition government is formed if a group of parties can all agree on the division of the pot and also have a majority (at least 16) of the 30cseats in parliament.
- After a round ends (whether or not a political coalition government is established), due to the fickle and instable nature of politics another election is held immediately, and everybody must contribute $20m into the pot again.
- With nplayers left in the game, I will selectn'Election cards' that have the combined total of 30.
- At the beginning of a round, after you have paid $20m into the pot, you may PM me a multiple of $20m which you are going to pay extra (which represents how much you spend on advertising/campaigning in addition to the $20m). For each $20m paid, you get an extra 'ticket' in determining the election results. If you choose not to spend additional funds on campaiging, you must PM me to say that.
- Once everybody has PM'd me, I will then use random.org to determine a random ranking of all the players. For each additional 'ticket' recieved for funding, you will get your party placed one extra time in the generator.
- Then, the party ranked first recieves the Election card with the highest number of seats. The party ranked second recieves the Election card with the second highest number of seats... etcetera.
- If you paid for additional tickets, you can still only win one election card. Your highest ranked ticket will determine which rank you are, and I will ignore the rest.
- Once I have revealed how many seats each party has one, it's negotiating time! You can negotiate with people through this topic and also over PM.
- In order to have a split of the pot, you must have a coalition that has a majority of seats in parliament, but also a unanimous agreement on how the pot is going to be split amongst each individual party.
- You will have 3 days to negotiate (with one extra day added if the round lasts over a weekend).
- Once the deadline is reached, all communication must cease. You then PM me a coalition that you are proposing, along with a cleardivision of the pot. This should be within 48 hours (preferably ASAP).
- If a coalition is proposed by all parties involved, and the division of the pot is the same for all parties involved, they win that round and the pot is split as proposed.
- Otherwise, nobody wins the pot and the next round, everybody's $20m is added to that pot.
- The election cards/seat division will not be the same throughout the game.
- Even when the number of players drops (due to eliminations), there will still remain 30 seats in parliament.
- No one election card will by itself have a majority (ie. a coalition will be required each round).
- The basis for this game can be found here. The rules are not exactly the same.
- The game ends either when there are only 2 players left or if I decide that one player has accumulated ridiculous money and is sure to win.
- The smallest denomination of money that may be used is $1m. You cannot have divisions of $500k/$500k etc. This is because the initial game just has $1 as the smallest denomination but I added an 'm' to make it more exciting! (Yay!)
- All rules/information/deadlines are subject to change.
