Greetings, players. I bring a message from the West, to all who would seek to save or rule Middle Earth. A challenge for 21 such competitors, moderated by three lords of power seldom seen. Elrond the half-elven, descendant of Earendil, who voyaged to Valinor with a Simaril on his brow. Sauron, ring maker, dark lord of Middle Earth. And of course, myself, Gandalf the White, an emissary of Valinor. If you wish to participate, reply via PM with the information summarized at the bottom of this post.

[GENERAL RULES]

[01]
This is a game. The main objective is to have fun; so no excessive flaming, spamming, or submission of anything else prohibited within the MS forums.
[02]
This is a game. The secondary objective is to win. Regardless of how amusing you think it may be, do not join merely to troll the other players.
[03]
We are not infallible, so if any of the moderating team makes a mistake, please point it out and I will correct it if needed.
[04]
We have worked extensively to produce a game that is enjoyed by all involved. As such, we promise to offer each player respect but expect to be shown the same in return.
[05]
Do not modify avatars. The moderating team (or rather, Shiidaji) has spent time and care to create these avatars, and we would rather not spend time making unnecessary revisions.
[06]
Exercise common sense. If you are unsure as to whether an action conflicts with the rules, ask. Yes, this is a competition, but do not attempt to undermine challenges or game mechanics for your own gain. This violates both the spirit of the game and common respect mentioned above.
[07]
We reserve all rights to implement new rules if needed.

[GAME MECHANICS]

[01]
Survivor: Middle Earth
is
ANONYMOUS
. All participants are strictly prohibited from so much as hinting to their own identities or implying another player's mafiascum identity. Communication outside the private message system is also forbidden until otherwise stated. Failure to follow this rule can result in a variety of consequences ranging from a terse warning to one's elimination from the game. We reserve the right to determine the severity of possible infractions.

Rewards:

[02]
Middle Earth is home to a variety of rare items, powerful relics of a bygone age. At the start of the game, each of you will be given the opportunity to choose one for later use. This choice will remain secret, and should not be taken lightly.
[03]
Additional rewards may be available throughout the game, either by challenges or other methods. We reserve the right to hand out rewards secretly.

Reward List
Morgul Blade:

Once during a tribal council, you may use the command
Backstab: [Player X]
. Doing so will give you a double vote against that player, IF you had voted with them for the past two tribal councils.

Lembas Bread:

Twice during the game, you may use this item for a handy advantage in the next challenge. Simply post in your confessional the command
Consume Lembas
to use it.

Elven Cloaks:

Once per tribal council (in your tribe), you may use the command
Spy: [Player X]
. Doing so will cause Player X's vote to be revealed to you within your confessional after the TC. (The command may be used any time between the end of the previous challenge and the beginning of the next one, failing to do so within that time period will forfeit the opportunity.)

Mithril Shield:

Once during a tribal council, you may use the command
Protect: [Player X]
. Doing so will cause one vote for Player X to be discounted when the results are revealed. (The item is still used even if nobody votes for Player X.)

Palantir:

Four times during the game, you may use the command
Reveal: [Player X]
. Doing so will inform you of all the reward items in Player X's possession.

Bow of the Galadhrim:

Twice during the game, you may use the command
Wound: [Player X]
. Doing so will hurt Player X, preventing them from using or giving away their reward items for one game cycle.

Immunity Challenges:

[04]
A Survivor game is nothing without its standard immunity challenges. Each round will possess an Immunity Challenge.
[05]
The outcomes of all Challenges are final. That said, however, be sure to keep Rule 03 of General Rules in mind.
[06]
Winners of Immunity Challenges will be safe from elimination that round and cannot be voted out in Tribal Councils.
[07]
We appreciate the fact that prospective contestants will enter this game with a range of skills. With this in mind, understand that we as mods cannot cater to all players' needs and time constraints in challenges.

Tribal Council:

[08]
Tribal Councils will last twenty-four hours from the moment we notify relevant parties. If a player fails to submit a vote within the given time frame, he or she will incur a self-vote penalty. In the event that a player knows he or she will be unable to vote by deadline, that player may notify the moderators and cast a conditional vote to avoid penalization.
[09]
The results of Tribal Councils may be posted before deadline if and only if all persons involved have submitted a vote.
[10]
The modification of votes after they have been submitted is prohibited. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in a self-vote or nullification of one's vote. Repeated offenses will be dealt with as deemed appropriate. The only exception to this rule are conditional votes mentioned above.
[11]
In the event of repeated failures to vote, the moderating team may choose to modkill or replace the offending player at their discretion.
[12]
The outcomes of Tribal Councils are final.
[13]
Questions concerning ties in Tribal Council may be found below:

Spoiler: Breaking Ties
I
In the event of an initial tie, a revote shall take place. Contestants may only vote for one of the tied players, and all tied individuals may not vote.
II
If a majority is not met in the revote, the following methods (in the given order) will be implemented to determine which player is eliminated:
1. If any of the tied players failed to submit a vote during the Tribal Council in question, they will be eliminated. If more than one tied player failed to vote, the player with the highest number of past self votes will be eliminated.
2. Any non-tied player who failed to submit a vote during the Tribal Council in question will be eliminated. In the event that this also results in a tie, the player with the highest number of past self votes will be eliminated.
3. If the above does not apply, the tied player that has received the most votes in past Tribal Councils will be eliminated.
4a. If the above does not apply and if the game has not yet reached the Final 6, all players not locked in the tie or immune will draw rocks. The player who receives a black rock will be eliminated.
4b. If the above does not apply and if the game has reached the Final 6, a tiebreaker challenge will take place. This will be further explained if and when it happens.

Twists:

[14]
Twists will be implemented without warning or provocation throughout the game. The time and setting of each twist has already been determined, so as to neither give an unfair advantage or disadvantage to a player or group of players.

[ Round One ]

At the immunity challenge, Tribes had to send their four most most skilled climbers to scale the impossibly tall Caradhras.

Try as they might, the Misty Mountains' highest peak proved to be too much for the
[Guardians of Elessar]
, who must now face Tribal Council while the
[Anduin]
and
[Sapphire Slayers]
enjoy immunity.

[ Round Two ]

The immunity challenge pit the Tribes against each other in a skirmish that tested their intuition and teamwork.

[Anduin]
proved themselves to be the superior strategists when they managed to knock both of the other tribes out in the same round. They then had to discuss amongst themselves as to which Tribe to give immunity to.

After some deliberation,
[Anduin]
chose to share immunity with the
[Guardians of Elessar]
, which means the
[Sapphire Slayers]
must now face their first Tribal Council.

[ Round Three ]

This time around, the contestants were faced with one of Gandalf's grueling trivia quizzes.

Despite their physical prowess,
[Anduin]
didn't make the cut in when it came to taking the exam, marking only
25
points. The
[Sapphire Slayers]
and
[Guardians of Elessar]
share immunity, scoring
54
and
50
points respectively.
