This fall we bring you to the world of music: to annoying songs you can't get out of your head for the life of you, songs that you instantly change the radio away from while you're in the car, and artists that get in the news way too often (we're looking at you, Justin Bieber). But we also bring you to the classics: the legends of classic rock, the beginnings of R&B, and even classical music. 21 of our best artists and groups will join us on this journey, and if you wish to be one of them, just submit an application using this form!

General Rules:

Taken in parts from Arkham City and Bahamas

[1]
This is a game. The main objective is to have fun; so no excessive flaming, spamming, or submission of anything else prohibited within the MafiaScum forums.

[2]
This is a game. Therefore, you are expected to play to the best of your ability.

[3]
This game is anonymous. You must refrain from revealing or hinting at your MafiaScum username during the game and from revealing your game identity on MafiaScum. (You are allowed to reveal your identity in your confessional.)

[4]
Do not discuss the game anywhere, with the exception of the forums, outside communication with the moderators, and any Chatzys the mods provide for challenge purposes.

[5]
Private communication with players outside of your tribe is strictly prohibited unless otherwise stated.

[6]
Do not take screenshots of PMs, mod posts, or anything else to attempt to prove or disprove anything. Do not use the forum to forward PMs. Quoting PMs, however, is allowed.

[7]
Do not modify your avatar during the game. The moderating team has spent time and care to create these avatars, and we would rather not spend time making unnecessary revisions.

[8]
We are not infallible, so if we make a mistake, please point it out to one of us privately so that we can make corrections if necessary.

[9]
We have worked extensively to produce a game that is enjoyed by all involved. As such, we promise to offer each player respect but expect to be shown the same in return.

[10]
Exercise common sense. If you are unsure as to whether an action conflicts with the rules, ask. Yes, this is a competition, but do not attempt to undermine challenges or game mechanics for your own gain. This violates both the spirit of the game and common respect mentioned above.

[11]
We reserve the right to implement new rules if needed. The players will be told if this happens.

Game Mechanics:

Taken in parts from Arkham City and Bahamas

[1]
Our game is
ANONYMOUS
. As stated in the general rules, all participants are strictly prohibited from so much as hinting to their own identities or implying another player's Mafiascum identity. Communication outside the private message system is also forbidden unless otherwise stated. Failure to follow this rule can result in a variety of consequences ranging from a terse warning to one's elimination from the game. We reserve the right to determine the severity of possible infractions.

[2]
Each round will have an Immunity Challenge. We appreciate the fact that prospective contestants will enter this game with a range of skills. With this in mind, understand that we as mods aren't able to cater to all players' needs and time constraints in challenges.
[2a]
Winners of Immunity Challenges will be safe from elimination that round and cannot be voted out in Tribal Councils.
[2b]
The outcomes of all Challenges are final. That said, however, be sure to keep Rule 8 of the general rules in mind.
[2c]
Challenge tiebreakers have been created already, and will be announced. If you have questions about tiebreakers, please do not hesitate to ask.

[3]
Each round will also include Tribal Council. At Tribal, everybody will vote someone out, and the player with the most votes will be eliminated from the game.
[3a]
Tribal Councils will last twenty-four hours from the moment we notify relevant parties. If a player fails to submit a vote within the given time-frame, he or she will self-vote and accumulate a strike penalty. In the event that a player knows he or she will be unable to vote by deadline, that player may notify us and cast a conditional vote to avoid penalization.
[3b]
The results of Tribal Councils may be posted before deadline if and only if all persons involved have submitted a vote. Regardless of who has voted, a Tribal Council result will not be revealed less than twelve hours into the Tribal Council.
[3c]
The modification of votes after they have been submitted
is
permitted. However, you must make a separate post in your confessional, and it must come before the results are revealed.
[3d]
The outcomes of Tribal Councils are final. That said, be sure to keep Rule 8 of the general rules in mind.
[3e]
Failure to vote will result in a self-vote penalty. Unless the mods are notified in advance, we have the right to eliminate you after three self-votes or two consecutive votes.
[3f]
The procedure for the Final Tribal Council will be announced when it occurs.

[4]
In the event that a Tribal Council ends in a tie, we will go to a tiebreaker.
[4a]
The initial tiebreaker is always a revote. The only people who can be voted are those who were in the tie, and the tied players may not vote. Any reward items may not be used.
[4b]
If the revote still results in a tie, rocks will be drawn as a tiebreaker. All players will draw rocks (except players with Immunity because of a challenge win or idol).
[4c]
If the game is in the Final Four or later, a tiebreaker challenge will be played between the players in the tie instead. The loser of this challenge is eliminated.

[5]
Twists will be implemented without warning or provocation throughout the game. The time and setting of each twist has already been determined, so as to avoid giving an unfair advantage or disadvantage to a player or group of players.

If you have any further questions, comments, or concerns, please contact one of the mods. Please also fill out the application if you wish to spectate, we do have spots open for spectators. Applications will be due four days from now, on Friday, December 4 at noon EST. We will be opening the forums to the players Saturday night at 7pm.

NOTE
: No challenges or Tribal Councils will occur on Christmas Day or New Year's Day.

Signups have closed officially. We have received more applications than slots, so some people will unfortunately not be accepted :(

We will be sending all spectators and the selected players a PM with the forum link and your account information Saturday night at 7pm, at which point the game will begin. Stay tuned!

Sometimes I wish, that you could see you now.
In the rightful place, where I knew that you belonged.
Sometimes I wish, that they might someday understand.
to close the chapter, and lay to rest the past.
But nothing would change, we made the best of what we had.
for we are measured by the actions of our lives.
we bide our time, let the future unfold.
Like immortals, in great legends to be told.

My god, look at what we are now -
without regret for all the things that we have done.

Thank you for all the doubts, and for all the questioning,
for all the loneliness and for all the suffering.
For all the emptiness, and the scars it left inside.
it inspired in me, an impetus to fight.

To all who stood with us, when we stood as one.
Thank you for guiding us, for bringing us home.
And if it seems that I'm obliged to say these words,
I write this in gratitude, the least that you deserve.

I can't believe I lost to the person who voted themselves out for me. Bella, you are so much more capable then I ever gave you credit for. I only got to see that in the FTC when I couldn't tell you how much I was in awe of what you'd done. Congratulations, you deserve this ten thousand times more then I ever did this game.
I HATE YOU SO MUCH PLEASE GO JUMP INTO A FREEZING LAKE - Mr. Freeze
And this was like me realizing that you were a serial killer. - Hathor

Congratulations Bella!!! And really congrats to both you and Shadow for your amazing games. It was incredibly fun to watch you. It was great seeing you both up there together. I love both of you.

Shadow your chatzy made this game so much fun to spectate. Getting to see Shadoweh, Jal and Bella in a chatzy? Thank you for that ;)

Jal you reminded me of Phantasm but with class and snark that I could never match and I loved every minute of it. That f4 was heartbreaking.

Btw hi klick!!!

yeah where were the damn idols i'm buggin' out my mind here

The first idol was the one Radiohead found. I added a comment to some songs of the day saying to "seek out the final road season to find the door to stardom" or some such. This indicated the ZAvenueGFX Winter skin, where a hidden forum could be found on the Portal button (the "door"). This forum required the password "stardom" to access the idol. But it was found without the clue, so.

The second idol was hinted at by the Songs of the Day about "waking the fallen" and "home." The idol was hidden in the welcome thread image in the original tribe forums for the first player voted out of each tribe. Robyn went home with it in her pocket.

The third idol was hidden (starting at merge) in my signature (the lyrics there have been changed to be terribly wrong; they have been replaced with the titles of Survivor songs). I slowly added more hints to my signature and started occasionally italicizing and unitalicizing it, but no one ever noticed. This was intended to lead to another clue on Survivor's profile, and following the directions there led to an idol.
