After some time, the tribes reach a small cave and decide to shelter for the night. Unbeknowst to them, they have stumbled upon the lair of a Thunder Troll! As you start to get settled in he appears in the entrance and roars "TELL ME A STORY!" It seems that doing so is the only way to appease the Troll...
The tribe that can tell the best story will be victorious in this challenge. Two threads will soon be set up in the whole sort of general mish mash forum, one for each tribe. Your goal is to tell a better story than the opposing tribe. However, there is a catch; Each member of your tribe may only post one word at a time. By working together, you can piece together the sentences that will form a riveting tale. By succeeding in certain aspects of the storytelling you will compete for points.
1) Coherency. Each coherant sentence will be worth points equal to the number of words in that sentence. A coherant sentence must be an understandable sentence written with proper grammar and spelling. Run-on sentences, as determined by Microsoft Word, will not count for any points.
2) Story continuation. Every sentence that follows a running theme will be worth and additional 10 points.
3) Part of Story. Having a beginning middle and an end is worth and additional 50 points to your total score.
4) Variety. A sentence in which all of your members post at least once will recieve a 5 point bonus.
1) Absolutely no editing of posts. If I see that any posts have been edited I will reduce your teams score to zero at that point and restart counting.
2) No deletion of posts. If you mess up, you mess up. Obviously this is on the honor rule if I'm not around, but I will be watching the post counts carefully and if I catch someone deleting a post their team will lose 50 points.
3) There must be two different tribemates in between each of your own posts.
4) Nothing particularly crude or obscene. I will neglect to count sentences that are too vulgar for my tastes.
5) No repeating a sentence or very similar sentences, i.e. "I ate cake. They ate cake. Those guys ate cake". This does NOT count for running theme, it is only annoying.
I know this is a rather vague challenge of sorts, but it can also be a fun one. Please keep your mind open and try to be creative with it. The threads will be left open from eight PM EST tonight until eight PM EST on thursday. At that point I will rally the points and declare the winners.
