couldn't respond to bnl because the role was too genius to reveal early

also i was going back and forth as to wehther or not to also include a town hider or some other low power town role that still serves as something of a red herring for the complex FV

i'm not even sure why i included the rolecop part of the mason.

replace rolecop mason with regular mason, change 1 vt into a town hider?

i will not be including a gunsmith

i could potentially be included to turn a goon into a backup gunsmith for like literally no reason

It would be nice.to have exactly 1 false positive for.the complex FV

that's what i was thinking, i guess hider is still somewhat powerful because:

hider claims fruit -> mafia shoot hider -> hider is hidden and survives

not sure if that's an interaction we want or we literally just want a completely useless role to be a red herring

why? hider is only protected from kills, not asceticized

also i think i'm fine with the potential of scum doing something with regards to lying about FV being roleblocked? like, that's either just good play from scum if they somehow talk their way into it or a big commitment if they fakeclaim it or something.

If this successfully happens the game is just over though.

If all of town power is gonna be in one role it has to be consistent or it opens massive swing

what are you envisioning for how scum would go about this? through a fakeclaim, or just through convincing?

presumably anything scum would do would happen after the loyal FV claims, so i think it would be viewed fairly suspiciously, especially if it's coming after a "guilty"

it's not like i hate the idea of informing the lfv, i think that it would just take a bit away from the simplicity of the setup and i'm not sure it's entirely necessary.

i also think it would probably be a pretty unenjoyable situation for scum if they were to simply randomly fakeclaim a blocking role and got guiltied because of it. a solution to that is to inform the mafia that someone is informed of etc. etc. but that just kind of exacerbates the problem

like, i don't know. would you really believe the guy randomly claiming ascetic on like day 3 after the LFV outs like that? or if he claimed to have roleblocked the LFV? a scumbuddy could fakeclaim something too, but then that ties them together in a pretty dangerous move.

yeah, maybe not something that's actually fun. (that being said, being the designated "you're here to receive mafia fruit and get shot" role is probably also not fun)

i really feel like this is a scenario where i would actually be One Of Those People and say "this is too much hand holding". i don't know. like, i really feel like this isn't as easy to pull off as you're making it out to be, and if someone were to pull it off that they deserve to not instantly be confscummed or something by something they had no reliable way to predict?

that was pretty much the idea. i want to have a 4th town role there for the mafia CFV to be able to get a hit on but one that isn't actually one that they actually benefit from shooting all that much
