Actually. It occurs somehow that I didn't realize earlier: PT cop wasn't whitelisted, traffic analyst was. And I realize now that I said I would whitelist PT cop but never did, and now I kiiiiind of don't want to at this moment because people may speculate that it's because of this setup when it's running and assume the roleclaim is real as a result. I might anyway

Swapping to traffic analyst if we have to here shouldn't massively impact this setup's balance, since it's a scum role here and the most impactful balance difference is being unable to find the last scum. But it does impact it some.

after about three more minutes of thinking i have realized the solution:

i will whitelist PT cop now

this setup will run after the other 13-p setup that is also ready to run.

and things will look ever so slightly less sketchy to the incredibly theoretic incredibly observant onlooker.

Oh cool this is a thing. Hi all and thanks for your time and all you do and such!

I have a slew of really dumb questions if anyone has the time, this is my first time moderating and I want to be sure everything goes smoothly. A lot of this will be self evident and hell I'll answer it myself most times, but I'd rather ask extraneous questions now than not ask and look foolish later.

First off, I can guess that this setup has gone through a lot of changes over the past few months, but the setup as its shown in the OP is the final product? There are sample role PMs here for fruit vendors and all manner of things but I dont need that, just the roles as shown in the opening post?

I also want to confirm I've got action resolution worked out beforehand so I'm not like "uhhhhh what do" if something weird happens. Heres what I'm assuming

1. Neighborizer targets someone, Scum shoots neighborizer: target added to neighborhood, neighborizer dead

2. Neighborizer targets someone not yet in a pt, scum PT cop targets that same someone: positive result for PT cop

Do I have that right? I'm presuming that kills generally happen last, and actions that modify other actions, roles, or otherwise muddy the waters get resolved first. I dont see any other interactions here with this being such a simple setup but if I've missed something lemme know

so yes the big odd even monstrosity ended up replacing a VT

your resolution questions:
1. yup
2. assuming you mean someone about to get neighborized - yes it would get a positive, generally investigative roles happen "last", which is to say they take into account things that happened that night (for watcher and tracker this is intuitive)

Hmmm okay well in that case I must ask how best to handle the loud fruit vendor. Do I send the fruit vendors target 1 PM at day start stating (paraphrasing): "You've received fruit! Also player x did something loud at you." Or do I send two separate PMs? I feel like the former makes it too apparent that the actions were linked, which doesnt seem desirable

what i would do is one pm called "night 1 results" with:
-you have received fruit!
-[player] has visited you last night
in randomized order. i think its reasonably clear that they're separate things with that, and like people will probably think "oh loud fruit vendor" either way

incidentally in the past i have given this message except it was from two different roles and also i told the player his results in person

It lists the action priority. So yes.
Neighborizer is shot? Target's still added to the neighborhood.
Neighborizer targets someone not in a PT, PT cop targets that player? Positive on "has a pt".

This is also what I do, although I personally always list the Loud part last, regardless.

I gave formatting in the role pm list I believe, but the way I'd do it is indeed,
"You have received a piece of fruit!
You know that Playername targeted you last night."

Also, a personal golden rule of mine when resolving night actions: when in doubt, read the written wording of the role PMs in question.

In this case, if you verbatim use the roles I wrote, the Loud Fruit Vendor PM tells you how to give the result:
They're told, "You have received a piece of fruit!"
They are also told (also, in this case, implying in addition to, which I would interpret as being added on, thus, after, but in the same PM), "[Name of fruit vendor player] visited you last night."

Is there an established naming convention for masonries/hoods? I'm not dumb enough to name them like neighborhood 1 and neighborhood 2, or "neighborizer player's neighborhood", but uh...yeah idk just a thought I had.

I thought about being cute and naming my neighborhoods randomly chosen street names, maybe a "Main Street: Neighborhood PT" or "The Cul-De-Sac: Neighborhood PT"

actually have
two different people as neighbors? from what i wrote in the mini archives and from post 0 of the thread itself, it looks like there was only one "neighbor" role and five VTs where the setup calls for two and four respectively.
