ftr I loathe the second setup personally, think the first is slightly better than third but both would be fun to play.

the only problem with the second setup is that the mason doesn't know that the mafia know that the mason knows that the mafia know that the masons exist. If you fix that it'd become a good setup

General:

-All site-wide rules apply.
-Always play to win
-Remember that this is a game - Heated discussion is allowed, but personal attacks are not.
-Pretending to break the rules will be treated the same as actually breaking the rules.

-Do not use encryption, hidden text or excessively small text in your posts.
-Each Day phase will last for 10 days, with Night phases lasting 48 hours.
-Once there are fewer than 8 players remaining, each Day phase will become only 8 days long. I will post specific deadlines at the start of every Day and Night phase.
-On any given Night, if all living players PM me to request a ‘Fast Night’, the next Day phase will begin sooner.
-Please do not post in the game thread or any private topics following your death, with the exception of the dead thread.

Voting:

-Lynches will occur when a majority (>50%) is reached. If no majority is reached before deadline, the day will end in a no lynch.

-The number of votes needed to hammer will be included with every vote count.

Activity:

-You are expected to make at least one game-relevant post every 48 hours. Players who go 48 hours without posting will be prodded.
-If you are prodded, you have 24 hours to make at least one game-relevant post in-thread. If you do not respond within 24 hours, you will be replaced. Additionally, if you accumulate 3 prods, you will be replaced at my discretion.
-Abuse of prod dodges will result in you being replaced at my discretion.
-If you are going to be V/LA, please announce it in thread or PM me. If your V/LA will last 4 days or longer you will be replaced at my discretion.

Other:

-Night actions this game will follow Natural Action Resolution.
-If you do not send me an action for the Night, I will assume that you are not making one. If you have a Night action, but do not want to perform it during a particular Night phase, you may instead submit a "No Action" PM.
-Mafia will be able to communicate with each other during day phases.
-Factional actions and other actions may not be performed by the same player simultaneously.
-I reserve the right to alter/remove/add any rules as I see fit. You will, of course, be notified if that happens.

An amendment for the V/LA rule so people don't get prodded and then ask for another 4 days or something:

its up to you! it's a norm of the normal queue however that it doesn't impose considerably on gameplay, e.g. roles should be flavorless, and usually people don't form a larger narrative from game events - something i'm seeing a lot lately is consistent pictures and stuff being put in vote counts

this isn't the current normal standard, there is a modifier called multitasking that allows multiple simultaneous actions. something like "players will not be able to enact multiple night actions unless they are multitasking" might be appropriate but that is already implicit because it is a normal setup. people won't read into it either way i think.

Probably a dumb question but thought I'd check just in case, if the watcher dies and the backup is still around, do I send them the details of the Watcher role: "Each night you may target a player and receive a list of the players that targeted them. If no one targeted them, you will receive the result 'no one'. If your action was disrupted, you will receive 'no result'." Or is it assumed knowledge? Or should I just add that info into the initial role PM?

It's probably a good idea to send it to them if for no other reason than as a reminder that they've inherited the role. It's semi-assumed knowledge, if they specifically ask what a watcher is you can link them to the wiki page for it as well.
