I'm happy to approve the Miller version of the setup. (FWIW, I think a "decoy Miller" tends to help out town's win chances in general compared to a vanilla setup.)

Having two confirmable town roles and nothing else is probably scumsided, but not by much (especially because in this case, scum can't really 1v1 them and they have a major communication advantage over the scum). I think that adding the Miller too is going to help bring it up to balanced, as players will expect something beyond the Mason pair (the secondary roles on the Masons might count as "something", but maybe not).

We'll just need a role PM for the Miller and then we'll be good to go.

schadd had the idea of a N2 tracker instead of bodyguard when i first floated the setup to him, do either of you think that'd work better here instead?

am happy to write up a miller pm in the meantime tho

im kind of unconvinced by the tracker

the only thing id feel comfortable with for adding town power is the bodyguard or something else similarly weak

i agree that miller is +EV for town if anything (i think ive only seen it fakeclaimed as scum once ever) & would pass that while preferring something more

That seems a bit evil given that
both
scum are false negatives. It'd be about the right power level but it's possible that your playerlist would lynch you after the game. (Rolecop would be a reasonable alternative that's very similar in balance implications.)

N2 Tracker seems wrong in this setup because town don't have anything trackable.

I think schadd_ and I are in agreement that town needs something minor besides the Masons; I just think unmodified Bodyguard is too strong (because it interacts really well with the Masons).

/approve the setup in #, but willing to keep discussing and maybe approve an alternative version if you find something you like more

General:
- Please adhere to the site rules.
- Do not discuss this game of mafia outside of this thread.
- Day phases will last 10 days (or until a lynch is achieved).

- Do not quote PM's from the mod at all (real or fabricated). Paraphrasing is acceptable.
- If you have any questions about your role, or the game, feel free to PM me.
- "Bah" posts are not allowed.
- Don't publicly talk about potentially replacing out, and don't publicly request for other players to replace out. If you have an issue that may need to be resolved through a replacement, please feel free to bring it up privately with me!
- If you break any of these rules, you may be modkilled (only with a listmod's blessing) or force-replaced.

Voting / Player actions:

- I may make mistakes - please point out any mistakes gently. Mistakes will be corrected where possible, but sometimes mistakes are made that cannot be reversed. These will stand as final to be commiserated over after the game.

Happy with just this I think, especially considering scum lack daytalk anyways. Updated the mason role PMs just to add in the link to their PT. One final question: I'm assuming it's kosher for the masons to know each others roles right off the bat? Because I realize that's how I wrote the role PMs. Granted I don't really see why they'd feel the need to lie to each other about their abilities lol

You tell the scum each others' roles too, so I think that's fine. Most of the care that's needed for a Mafia mod is related to hidden information, and Masons really shouldn't have hidden information from each other. (Also, the presence of an Encryptor is likely important to note.)
