Yeah this is townsided.

Towns have been doing very well recently and while I probably would have gone for this several months ago I don't think it's a good idea right now

oh are you sure?

i'm up for shooting it around a bit more, even if you think it's passable. i was at a point in designing it when it was originally just

3 goons
vs
announcing pt cop
2 masons

and it occurred to me that adding another mason was interestingly not necessarily only a boost to town power, or at the very least it was less of a boost than randomly adding a mason in any other setup

i also forgot to PM implosion that i wanted to include the schadd_ provision: No Cops, Psychologists, Ninjas or Traitors.

i did, however, think that just directly adding another mason was too much town power given the situation where the PT Cop just gets innocents avoiding any types of guilties, false positives or otherwise. complex + the useless scum roles solved that problem and also, i thought, added an interesting red herring for the scumteam (although i was going to include a delayed encryptor even before i thought of the complex thing).

This would be a jerk thing to do given that I'm pretty sure the complex pt cop is a cop in practice.

I would leave it as is. I like how it is though I'd remove the messenger component.

Hey. Couple questions.

1) In most games it's announced in the intro post that mafia have day talk. I'm assuming that I should omit this, but what do I say if someone asks about it?

2) Are the ninja and strongman abilities activated? Like does the player have to say
Ninja kill Player
or does it just automatically activate when the player with the ninja ability does the kill?

3) Any other setup information that needs to be publicly revealed?

1) omit it, and if someone asks, the standard answer is something like "mafia cannot talk during the day unless allowed to by an encryptor". Don't worry about this giving away the existence of an encryptor, it doesn't because it's the standard answer.

2) They have to specify whether or not they're using the ninja/strongman abilities. They can make regular kills if they want to save their shots.

3) There is the provision that nsg wanted to include but RC thought it was a bad idea so I'm not actually sure if we should :p. I'll let them weigh in if they see this.
