I just said it above - I wanted to poke at the thought to see how people react to it.
I felt like I was the one to do something like that, because I've spent so much time crumbing, that even if someone thinks it might be scummy I'm not afraid of being mislynched.

Kind of feel like anything short of an investigative in the remaining pile of players to claim should hold onto their claim to try and give a slight shield to any kind of protective role. I don't really think there's scum in the group and might give us 3+ nights of investigations if we bamboozle scum.

I sort of agree, but I'm also worried that at this point scum can already snipe the investigative and we risk losing the investigation results.
The reason I was poking at our claiming order was to maybe goad our remaining "scumbuddy" to claim falsely in the hopes of blending in/"conf. towning" themselves with a role that doesn't make sense in the grand scheme of things.
Similarly I wanted our VT's NOT to claim, and I wanted out Doc to stay hidden - my claim should be enough for our investigative to trust there's a doc around.
I was willing to have our investigative claim, followed by me, to have a "follow the cop" for two more guaranteed (more or less) nights.
But hey, it's great we had people just claim whatever and popcorn whoever.

Quickly checking in. I don't really see the appeal of stopping part way through the massclaim now we're here. If scum has claimed already, all we've done is drastically narrowed down their hunt for poweroles, without us gaining the information we were looking for when we initiated this. In the unlikely event that scum is in the remaining 4 players, we've narrowed it down even more and not even forced them to commit to anything.

Willing to listen to how I'm missing something, but kinda feel like we're getting the worst of both worlds.

I guess I hoped that there would be some info role that could out results and maybe more PRs around that would make claiming VT a worse option for scum to hide behind but I guess game balance is a thing

OK. I think if we were going to have just an investigative role claiming and nobody else, that should have happened before half the game claimed VT. I don't want to stop short now we're this far, so I'm just going to claim, I'm also a VT.

Apologies that I'm kinda making the decision for us, but I don't like the suggested refinement, and I really really really would like some information to go off. We must have SOMETHING useful in the setup, even in a 12:3 ratio.

If we'd known Una's claim before massclaim then it would have been optimal to only have the investigative role claim.
Don't really think it matters at this point.

I'm just a VT, so it's pretty much a given that Chara/Spiff are the remaining PRs (and if Ether didn't make one of them a really strong PR then I'm going to be absolutely baffled as to what was going on with the balancing with giving scum two power roles)

Please tell me we have something that can clear people.

Us not having a Doc makes no sense.
Us having a Doc+backup with nothing to protect makes very little sense to me.
I thought about the Doc possibly being scumsided, but that makes very little sense too, with no town killing-PR.

I used to talk a lot with Ether about balance, and this isn't what I expected at all. I'm mainly hoping Chara claims something that suddenly causes everything to make sense, but I don't know what that is.

I also didn't want to claim in the first place, but decided to do so because of the VT-claims and because I got annoyed. Ech.

Scum has a gated strongman or a JOAT or something.
If scum has a VT, we only have a Doc+BuDoc and Cabd was informed that there is no investigative roles in game!
