For my first 2011 Nominations I would like to Nominate the following (all springboarding out of the recently ended Blackest Night Mafia )-

Andrius

for

Most Improved Player

- He's come a long way from when I first played with him.

Read his play in the Abandoned Prison Mafia.

Then read his play in Blackest Night Mafia.

It would not be a stretch to think those games were two completly different players. In Blackest Night he effectively used his role to detect multiple scum and despite pretty much claiming PR Day 1 he survived to the endgame. I think he's becoming a vastly underrated player.

- in that game Day 1 he correctly identified the one complete scum-team (and helped drive the lynch on their Godfather role).

The Town of Blackest Night Mafia

for

Best Performance Pro Town Team

- Successfully lynched scum players for five straight Days (Days 1 to 5) and vigged two more scum players. The Town completely destroyed the known original 9 scum roles by the Dawn of Day 6 and lost a 5 player endgame due to a Cult that was unknown at game's start.

Don't argue that it was a balanced Mafia game and acknowledge that lynching scum every day isn't good enough to win in the same post. Space it out a bit so we don't see it all at once. And it sounds like you're pretty sensitive about how it turned out but there's no need to throw a bitchfit in the Scummies thread about it. Gandalf hardly seems to have been out of line.

If LLD joined in like June or July, I could see not letting her stand for Newbie. But exactly a month from the cutoff should be close enough to the actual cutoff date that she should count.

She has come along way and definitely deserves a chance at the Newbie Scummie.

I think there's a better way to do it. I like some of the ideas that have come from this (like having a person be eligible for the entirety of their first year on site and maybe into the second depending on when games end). I think the fact that her join date being 31 days from the current deadline is a crap reason for not letting her be eligible for the Newbie Scummie.

Brotherhood of the Wolf (the game she was nominated for) started on Jan 15th, 2011 and ended on March 1st, 2011. Her join date is August 31, 2010. She started playing that game around her 5 1/2 month mark of being on the site and finished it at her 7 month mark. I believe that's perfectly able to be nominated for the Newbie Scummie.

It's time for that deadline to change. How many others have been looked over because of this?
