i think even beyond being an interesting story connected to a game of mafia, it was excelling in creating an atmosphere. i think being able to imagine some kind of environment that exists beyond a forum where people talk and cast votes adds so much to the experience of a game. it's the feeling that you're not just playing a game of mafia but you're also affecting the outcome of some story or real life situation.
